Intro to drawing was a lot harder than I anticipated. I never had a class that required so much time and effort. I had a lot of late nights & didn't receive a good final grade because I just "wasn't getting" the concepts, even though I thought I understood what Kate wanted. She's really nice, but a tough grader. This is NOT a joke class.

Kate is a fantastic teacher. I had no formal art training before her class and I learned so much. Her critiques are very helpful, and she really makes you see the world with artist's eyes. She does tend to pick favorites though.

Awesome, awesome teacher. Expects exactly what should be expected from students for a block plan art class. Every student grows and succeeds regardless of experience with any art or medium.

I was extremely hesitant to take an art studio class. Kate is very good at bringing out the artistic skill in all of her students. Sometimes her assignments can be vague, so just ask if you don't understand. The class was both challenging and rewarding.

Kate is a great professor. She expects a lot from her students but the results are worth it. Regardless of a student's experience entering the class, he/she has a firm foundation in drawing leaving it.

On a personal level, I like her; she is dedicated to art and behaves very professionally. I did not find her art classes terribly challenging, because I had a very strong high school art teacher. I think Kate?s lack of emotion is a way of compensating for her gender.

Kate is an awesome teacher. She is very willing to help and suggest ideas. She's always available and her critiques are always insightful and helpful. Kate is concerned with her students' progress and wants to see them acheive their maximum.
