Bessenbacher is a great professor! Gives great feedback , engagement with his students and encouragement to think outside the box. My writing has definitely improved because the class is essay heavy. But all-in-all its a very enjoyable class to take.

Kevin Bessenbacher is very chill "against the system" type of professor. He will treat you with the utmost respect as a student and will not question your intelligence. He will always challenge your opinions and make you dig deep into your mind to find logic and reason to match up to his.

Kevin is an overall cool guy. He knows a lot about what he is teaching in class and English in general. The bulk of the grade in the class comes from the 3 essays. The problem with these are what he wants isn't always clearly defined and he's not the easiest grader. If you are looking for and easy A this might not be your guy, but you will learn

Professor Bessenbachers helps his students develop a pluralist perspective. I really do appreciate people, like Professor Bessenchacher who stimulate my creativity and make me think on a deeper level. He will make you think whether it be from the required readings, 3 of the required essays and presentation. MLA format and citations are crucial

It isn't a hard class to pass, there are 3 research papers, and then one presentation. He assigns readings and then quizzes you on it the following week. Attendance is very important - he would take roll every time we met. Also, participation is important, he gives points on it. Overall, very easy, if you put in the time and effort.

Professor Bessenbacher is probably the easiest teacher for English 101. He only assigns 3 research papers and has you read selected materials and quizzes you on it the following week. He also scours your papers and gives pointers on how it can be improved. Grammar and spelling matters because, come on people, it's an English class.

This guy actually makes you think. He makes you engaged in what you're reading and because of him I am more aware of subtle things in writing. My own writing has gotten better because of him. Most of the class is discussion and he makes the class entertaining yet informative. YOU WILL PASS WITH AN A IF YOU EVEN BOTHER TAKING THE TIME. Great teacher

Excellent professor. Be ready to read and participate if you want extra credits. His class is not grammar, but to teach how to think, research and write for college level Some may not like him, as more than half of the class dropped after the third meeting, but those are the ones who do not want to work. I wish he had the other 2 English classes.

This class consists of three essays and a couple of quizzes. If you read the material the quizzes are automatic As. His grading of essays is tough but if you participate and read the material for quizzes it will level out your grade to an A easily. The professor is super cool and I would recommend him to everyone one. The textbook is $5

I got an A in this class, but it was hard. The readings are short and some are actually interesting, papers need to be perfect in order to get an A, gives quizzes on the readings (they're easy if you read and re read the material), the quizzes usually have an extra credit question, and the in class essays are pretty cool.

Great teacher. Keeps you pretty much the whole entire class. A lot of reading but if you read you'll do fine on the quizes. In class essays are easy so don't worry. No structure really to them. Just do all the work and you'll pass. I thought I was going to hate this class but I actually really enjoyed it. Lectures are interesting. Cool guy.

Class can be a bit long at times but usually finish early. Alongside that the work load isn't too bad, serious amount of readings and the in class essays aren't too bad or scary at all. not much structure in the papers but the class discussions are fantastic. the class gets better the longer in the semester, don't drop cause it seems like a lot!!
