Taken in fall 2020, but it was hard to get ahold of him at times. The materials were clearly outdated and he made you buy his book. Had unclear grading criteria and seemed like he didn't really care about the course don't take unless highly motivated and have your own personal resources.

If you can get past the typos in this course and study a ton you will learn so much in this class. Professor Marques has nice, clear lectures, with a well-organized textbook. My class got averages of 60s on exam 1 and 2 and 50 on the final exam. But there are heavy curves so you'll be fine. All the information is in the book. Just read it.

Dr. Marquis and his TA gave good feedback & answered emails quickly. The class is hard and unless you have had math or a finance class recently, don't take it! This is not an "overview" of economics! The Canvas course grade book does not calculate your grade correctly, says the homework does not count toward your grade and it does. Did not do well!

Professor Marquis wants his students to succeed, and provides the necessary material to do so. While this course is difficult, Professor Marquis and his TAs construct the tests to mirror what is learned from lectures and the textbook. He is fair and very concerned about the welfare of his students.

This professor was probably my driest and boringest professor I have ever had in my life. The material isn't necessarily boring or hard, but the way he teaches the class is so boring and dry, he sounds like a computer talking. Lots of homework, has a lot of typos and errors in his own textbook and class. Regretted taking this class very much.

Good material BUT a lot of work. 3 exams (1 cumulative) PLUS 3 DQs before each exam PLUS an assignment every week. Each assignment has about 20 pages of reading (no book, its his own material), powerpoint slides and a video. You'll get tired of doing all the assignments.

Worst class I've ever taken. First of all, the material is worse than crapping out a bag of broken glass, so if the class name doesn't excite you then you won't like it. He has online discussions worth a substantial portion of your grade but doesn't tell you when it opens up until a few hours before it closes. Not a hard class, but no book either.

I took this class online, so I cant say much about Professor Marquis. The class is comprised of 3 tests, and 10 hw assignments. The material isn't simple, and the tests aren't easy. That being said, this class is very easy to pass since the tests are curved, and the TA is ready to help if necessary. To do well, watch the lectures, and study the Hw.

Not an easy course and the tests can be a little tricky. But he is a very good teacher and his lectures explain everything you need to know for the tests and in general. Anything about 55 is passing so that shouldn't be a problem. Requires a lot of studying.

Very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions, big or small. I had a very anti-fed opinion before taking this class, but now I can appreciate the positives of it. It is not an easy course, but he drops the lowest test.

3 tests, 1 final. drops your lowest grade. test questions are VERY tricky no matter how much you study for them. not a bad professor. he'll help you when you need it, TA is useful, always responds to emails right away if you have any questions. Teaches you things you should know about the economy. this class is helpful.

He gives you everything you need to pass his exams, 80+ is an A. Hard to fail if you take notes, easy to if you don't. He's very cut & dry, but not a bad professor. He knows what he's talking about & explains it pretty well. His eText is really good too!

Economics of Art and Culture Online. The easiest class I have taken at FSU. Only 3 tests. No discussion board posting or essays or homework. The book was a waste of money. Just study his notes. The podcasts make it interesting.

I took this class online. In his podcast lectures he is not expressive nor enthusiastic about the material. However he does seem to have a good knowledge of it. His test are very hard to take. Multiple choices are all partially correct and incorrect at the same time. The test are short and you don't know what information he will test on.

The class was very hard, for me at least. Professor Marquis knows his stuff, but is very boring to listen to. If you don't find economics to be very interesting, do not take this professor. Half the class gets an A/B, the other half gets a C or below. 55 is passing, so that's not much of a question if you at least show up to class.

Milton was awesome. He is by FAR one of the best professors at FSU. Hes not the easiest guy, an the material isn't, either. Attendance isn't required but it's (highly) encouraged. Hes EXTREAMLY helpful an always available before and after class, and office hours. This guy knows his stuff and wants you to, too.

Marquis is great, but if you aren't interested in learning, don't take him, you'll be very bored. Don't buy the book, just go to class. He wrote book, so all needed material is already in notes. Tests are not that difficult, just study the notes and do practice problems, you'll get the A.
