You may think that she is just showing you Youtube videos for fun. Maybe she is, but she makes it relevant no matter how off-topic the video is. I would say double-check her facts. She may, unintentionally, say a false fact. Also she will show hard-core rap videos (did not enjoy it). Otherwise she is a great teacher.

One of the best. She will work with you on any topic, and actually cares. Lecture time gets a little off topic, but it's all interesting. Watched South Park "make love, not warcraft" during class as part of understanding gaming culture.

She's an ok teacher, but does seem to waste a lot of classroom time on stuff not important or relevant to the texts in the class. Way too religious oriented, I would not have taken this class had I known that previously. Out of all the required reading (which there was a lot of) only one thing really made me excited about literature. Too bad!

Great professor. I consider her to be the first real English teacher since 8th grade. She ACTUALLY teaches the stuff rather than forcing her writing style upon you (as many high school English teachers do). Her grading system is not arbitrary; you get what you work for. I am glad to have had her as a prof and will try to get her again in the future

Three classes were cancelled, however Ms. Sprague made sure we still moved forward covering all neccessary materials. Her class sessions were very interesting and open dialogue took place. Perhaps adult learners would enjoy her course more. Shes excellent!

I don't care what anyone says, this is the best teacher at UAF. She actually cares about the students and wants you to learn the material. I took her print based class, and it is a lot of work. Any print based class typically is. She is very helpful and understanding.

This was a distance course and she was awful!! NO feedback for weeks, and then none that made any sense-- grades seemed totally random. Maybe she's ok in person but stay away from her distance classes if you want to learn anything OR get the grade you work for.

I was in her honors class- you could tell she had fun teaching it, and didn't take herself too seriously. She didn't mind attendance that much, if you had a decent excuse. Tests were infrequent and straightforward, essays were graded harshly but they could be rewritten and resubmitted. All in all, I recommend her.

Nicole is amazing. She is incredibly passionate about teaching and really makes sure you learn. She also has very diverse interests. Class discussions ranged on all topics--the biology of starvation, the Yoruban afterlife, the Greek concept of beauty. We read about a book a week, took short quizzes, and ~3 tests; a decent workload, excellent class.

She is WONDERFUL! Even though she makes her opinions clear, she will not belittle you for your own. Open-minded, tolerant, thoughtful, sweet, and so incredibly intelligent. Her class is fantastic!
