Well, this class is interesting. To be in this class you have to have a sense of humor and tuff skin.Very sarcastic, but witty Deamer has a tough love way of teaching. Go to the tutoring she likes people that put in effort.Consistently late or not there, it's a relaxed atmosphere. Get to know the people around you, it will help.

Comment:

One-on-one she’s absolutely patient & supportive. However, classroom “tough love” = excessive sarcasm & intimidation which isn't conducive to encouraging student participation. Textbook was awful. (Use 'The Humongous Book' line.) Take home exams & a thick skin helped immensely.

Took this class on accident but turned out to really good. A lot of her tests are take home which is a big plus for those who have trouble with the concepts of the book. Group quizzes. The final was fairly simple if you know basic statistics. Overall the class dynamic is fairly odd but you can get an A if you put some effort.

Comment:

Deamer is a very honest teacher. Some don't like her because she is very honest and sometimes cut throat, but it is all for a good reason. In life nobody is going to hold your hand. Deamer is a great teacher and loves her students. She is a bit hard on the students, but it is all out of love. She is easy to talk to and very helpful. LOVE HER!

This teacher is very unorganized, she shows up late most of the time, has no syllabus, withholds your test scores and is rude to the students that actually want to learn. Get yourself a tutor, just make sure it's not one of her in-class "tutors" because they're terrible. If you can't pass a regular math class, you might do well here. I got a B.

I took Deamer 120 and 200. ONE OF MY GREATEST PROFESSORS EVER! She is very helpful, provides tutoring every Tue and Thur. So wants her students to achieve her goals. She challenges her students which is great in college. I LOVE DEAMER!

Yes, it is true this class you will never coast through. just come prepared ready to work, go to tutoring and you will do fine, but if you come to this class looking to get by on just your looks you are deffinately screwed!!!! Math is Professor Deamer so either you learn it or take it again. memorization not allowed... know you math!!!

WE LOVE YOU MS DEAMER!! Her class is not for the faint of heart. She may seem mean, but the truth of the matter is, she is soft as cotton. She will push you to push yourself. She looks out for students that SHINE even when they don't see it yet. I never thought I would love a MATH class or teacher this much.

Professor Deamer is everything I needed to reassure me that math is what I want to major in. Her class is not about memorizing; it's about KNOWING and UNDERSTANDING. You have to study and do your work; it's college now: no more playing games. I currently work with high school students in math, and Deamer's spirit is with me when I assist them.

Ms. Deamer is off the hook..she teaches so that you understand the work not memorize it if you can't handle being told what to do dont even bother taking her..I took math 110,120,200 and just graduated with my A.A. in ADMJ :) She pushes you to get to where you need to be!! I passed her class with an A because I pretty much did all the work on my own and with help of the tutors at the Learning Center. She will respect you if you always answer correctly but doesn't take the time to teach you. She was unbelievably rude to students who didn't know the answer and who asked "stupid" questions. If you think you can do it on your own, take her class, but if you are actually looking for a TEACHER, don't.

Class was in the computer lab so everyone just went on facebook and youtube the entire class because Deamer would just do problems on the board and tell you how to do them but then she would ask for questions and if anyone asked something she would stare at them and then call them retarded then continue on. Easily the worst teacher I've ever seen.

This teacher is the best. For all those that grew up all upitty and get hurt with words shouldn't take this class. If you can't understand her is because you're dumb. She gets to the point and knows her math. She will cuss sometimes and will occasoinally put someone down. But if you know who you are and can take a little word abuse then take class

best math teacher ever!, for thse who say she mean and rude is waaayyy too sensitive. her method works and thats a fact. math academy has a 95% passing rate. you have to be willing to learn, but she makes it an enviorment where u want to come and learn. definately take her!

The worst teacher I've ever had. I can't believe I paid to take this class. I also can't believe she still has a job because she is so rude and inappropriate in class. She shows up very late and makes fun of all the students. She will cut you down if you ask a question and kills your will to learn. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!

arrives late to class (first class 1/2 hr late, 2nd class 45 minutes late). she gives us a problem to work on, then she gets up and leaves for another hour. what the heck? when she talks she throws in some Ebonics and cuss words. very umprofessional, would not recommend her.
