Comment:

Took Public Management over the summer for six weeks. The class was pretty good and the professor had guess lectures. The subject is a bit dry but he makes the class enjoyable by bringing years of experience and real world examples. He gives articles for you to read and gives homework. There is a final exam which was an in class written paper.

Comment:

Prof. Benson is an amazing professor. He is very knowledgable about domestic violence and likes to relate his class to real world current events. He usually gives newspaper articles to the class to read and we write one page responses every class. There is a midterm paper and final exam. Overall one of the best summer classes I took.

This was the 2nd class that I have taken with him & bonus it was a Summer 1 class. The rules in regards to assignments, attendance & lateness are a bit different than regular semester classes. Again, awesome even with the jokes and yelling and assignments/exams. Take him you will not regret (if you can get a seat).

I have to agree with some of the post in regards to his loud voice & favorites. However, do not allow that to discourage you from taking ANY of his courses. This instructor offers something that is no longer found any more which is the freedom to express yourself without consequences. Recommend (if you can get in).

Easy Class, pretty useless though, its all common sense. Unfortunately, he's a horrible Prof, very loud and annoying. Preaches about how profs are held to a higher standard than other people and yet continues to act like a bumbling idiot. He yells like a barbarian, bangs on the desk like a child and thinks that the world revolves around him.

His class is fun; very loud and interactive. I have to agree with some of the people here that he plays favorites. The discussions were of current events in government which were interesting to me. I love this guy. I took him for drugs and domestic violence and learned so much. He is so entertaining. Show up, participate, and submit papers on time. You should do well. One of the best!

Professor Benson is nice. He makes jokes on almost everyone in class. I wish my schedule wasn't so tight, otherwise I would take him again. He is comical by nature. Summer session is great 2 quizzes and a final exam-NO BOOKS, NO PAPERS TO WRITE! What more could you ask for after a grueling Spring Semester!!-Domestic Violence and Criminal Justice.

Great class! The man is a sweetheart. At first you aren't sure where you are going with all of the information. Don't worry! He brings everything full circle tying in current events, which makes everything more clear and easier to understand. You must effectively participate if you want a good grade. I got an A+. I took him this past SSI, and he was def an easy A. All he required was a paper, 2 quizzes, and a final. We got one quiz waved because of the class' general participation and also the only quiz was given as a take home. His class is very interesting, and he LOVES participation. He does play favorites but he's a very easy grader. Take him!

DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! i got a B+ and trust me this is not an easy A! he plays favorites and if you're on his bad list, he'll hold it against you. don't ever be late to his class, he remembers it for the rest of the semester. he expects you to fill the blue books COMPLETELY and counts the pages to give you a grade. he's old and cranky, he needs to go!
