Comment:

For the online class, only way to get the textbook was 70 dollars for a kindle version. The text is so tiny and hard to make out, makes studying hard for this class, which you will do for hours and hours. This class is barren in material wise to study compared to in person, you are doomed to fail online.

Good course, fair professor. Gives plenty of extra credit if you need it. No reason to not get an A if you work.

Proffesor Stanley is passionate about Astronomy, but his teaching method is horrible. He mumbles and jokes about things that arent so funny, he has a terrible grading system, in 1 semester he's lost 2 of my assignments & blamed me. Quizzes are simple, tests are okay.

This is the worst class I have ever taken. Instead of taking Stanley take Aleniz he is so much better. His definition of easy is different from pretty much anyone else. He makes assignments ridiculously difficult for no reason. I was really excited for astronomy and now I just get stressed thinking about it.

Professor Stanley failed to simplify his lessons as ranted on and on unrecognizable astronomy jargon and laughed at his own jokes. I would not recommend taking this course if you aren't already some type of science major.

The hardest online class I've ever taken by far. You MUST read the book to get any of his quiz and test questions. Quiz and test question are of his own making. Quizzes are usually scan documents to small to read anything.

This was bar far one of the most difficult classes I have taken out of 50+ hours. The best part of the coursework each week were the links to other professors music videos. I loved astronomy before this class.

Extremely Hard. It's not a slack off class. There is so much information that you must study and then study again. Quiz after quiz, homework every week and again YOU MUST STUDY your face off. If you don't care at all for astronomy DO NOT take this class otherwise, you WILL FAIL.

DO NOT TAKE HIM He is a horrible online teacher... He issues group projects, makes you watch stupid science music videos, and offers no help on homework or assignments. He will try and pass you off to the MESA lab that has short hours that does not meet the needs of working students.

Very boring teacher. He seems passionate about Astronomy, but I felt bad for people that were taking this class that had no interest in the subject. Text book is mandatory for homework. Be prepared for death by power point. no hands on

Comment:

One of the best if not the best Professors I've had. He really wants you to understand the material, gives you good study guides, notes and key terms. He answered all my emails timely. He is slightly sarcastic but down to earth and knows his stuff. Would take him again if I needed more science !

Mr. Stanley was a great teacher! I had him for a three hour class starting at six p.m. so it was hard to stay focused. He had a really strange and funny sense of humor which kept me focused and awake. If you have any interest in Astronomy and have any fear math, take Mr. Stanley! He really goes out of his way to make sure you understand.

Boring, hard to understand, and very monotone. He was able to put me asleep for a couple classes without even trying. He doesn't explain things very will and he is hard to understand. I wouldn't recommend him. He makes everything difficult.

This professor is horrible. The first class I took him with I decided I would not take him again and then accidentally took him the next semester. He does not care about his students. If you ask to explain something he just says no. He is unwilling to help his students. Worse professor I've ever had.

If you like astronomy don't take his class. He is a boring nerd and if you are like me and hate homework this definitely not the instructor to take. I don't mind papers but his method to his madness is pure madness. And his grading makes no sense.

Good teacher, just a little on the boring side. Lectures the entire class. Attendance is mandatory because his notes and lectures are previews of the tests. Pay attention to the lectures and read the chapters assigned as well as complete the homework. He only lectures on what you will be tested on. Tests are hard if you don't study! Study to pass!

Although it was the first day of class I feel he is very helpful. He explains in detail and if I take good notes I should be okay. But I am wondering if this is the same prof. everyone here is talking about. I thought his name was George Stanley, not Roger! Anyway I will report back at the endof the semester with an overall average on this class.
