Worst professor ever! Very racist and disrespectful. When asking for help she said no figure it out on your own. Made me feel useless and not good enough. If I can give her a 0 I would. Try avoid taking her as a professor.

Literally worth altering your schedule so you don't have a class with her. Terrible material, grades are tough and unclear, way too old-fashion. Do yourself a favor and avoid this professor. Or better yet just take CORE over the summer or at a different college.

Comment:

Grading is all over the place and NEVER follows the rubrics. When I would get a bad grade on a paper that I followed the rubric for I would respectfully ask her her reasoning and EVERY time she would say "I just didn't think it was perfect". No other feedback at all. Often times the work in her class was pointless and meant nothing to the course.

Her grading makes no sense. I always use the rubric to go over my papers and makes sure they met criteria. She would always grade things much lower than what I expected based on the rubric and when I asked her what I did wrong, she simply said "I just didn't think it was perfect". She said this EVERY time.

Professor Mc Avey is a very nice woman, although her methods of teaching are very old fashioned. Her class can become very boring at times, and she grades very harshly, even on simple assignments. Not the worst professor I've had, and not the best.

If you can't take any other professor, get ready to fail. Wouldnt let anyone get above an 89, no matter how hard you tried. Attempted to talk to my advisor about her and he told me that I should go to the head of the department... McAvey is the head of the department. Wouldn't recommend in the least bit.

She is not very clear with her grading. She will take 30 points off and tell you your work was average and that's why you received a c, without explaining exactly what you did wrong. Confusing class and she's not helpful at all. Worst class I have ever taken, save yourself the trouble and don't.

Her style takes a little while to get used to but her assignments are straightforward and easy, if you ever need any extra help or are having problems, just talk to her and she'll work it out with you- very helpful

She was awesome, I am in the nursing program and she was very understanding of my workload. She is very easy to talk to, as long as you are mature and honest with her. SHE"S AWESOME!Love her and would take her again in a heartbeat
