Comment:

I have mixed feelings on SKR. In the classroom, shes brilliant--an absolute rockstar. She has a real talent of making every lecture captivating and fun-- even at 8am. You can tell that she loves rhetoric and that passion is contagious. But, she can be abrasive in a way that often made me feel small and out of place as a first gen student of color.

She's a great professor, however, I would wait to take this class until you know her better or are an upperclassman. Was really hard as a first-year and it was a bigger class so she wasn't as accessible. One of the best professors I've had, still.

amazing professor!! she's so passionate, caring, engaging -- even at 8 AM. She is tough but it's because she wants you to do well. Participation and your personal relationship with her will matter -- definitely see her outside of class.

SO great. Incredible professor. She really cares about students and the subject matter. Class is super engaging. Lots of reading but it's v possible to skim/ pass reading quizzes. Aristotle paper is a lot but she gives really specific and helpful comments. MEET w her. Final project is cool and relevant. Highly recommend to all. She's great

SKR is the best professor I've had yet at Bates. She is passionate, engaging and incredibly smart. My only criticism would be that since she has so many students who love her, it is hard to hold her attention for more than a few minutes. But those minutes are guaranteed to be awesome.

Stephanie is an incredible teacher. She was clear, engaging, and incredibly helpful both on understanding concepts in class and on improving my writing. This was the only lecture style class that I have been able to pay attention during. Awsome teacher, definenatly the best I have had at Bates.

Overall very fun and engaging class! Although I love her personally, I think that the material for this class is dead boring! Also, she is a very critical grader, I think at times her reasoning for the grades are poorely evaluatived. But as a person, or a professor to talk with is real cool!

Very intelligent woman, but a tad on the disorganized side. It took some time for her to hand back papers, etc. Lectures were interesting, but sometimes a waste of time due to her getting side-tracked by wise-ass students. Lots of writing, a tad overwhelming in terms of the many, 'busy work' assignments. Learned valuable information, though.

Hands Down most enjoyable professor with the most evident love for her subject. Learning from her was a pleasure because the difficulty of the class made me alter how I learned, which is something I will always appreciate. The class is probably boring to those who don't share her love of rhetoric.
