Dr. Petrov is just one of the best. Don't lose the opportunity to be in his lectures if you have the option. Lectures are very clear, he is extremely organized and very very helpful during office hours. He is the walking definition of an excellent Math teacher. Extremely recommended.

Dr Petrov is one of the best Math Profeesor that I have ever had. He takes great lenghts to explain everything. He is a brillant (and kind) professor, I know that he really has gone out of the way to help his strugging students this semester.

Explains the course material extremely clearly and provides very good examples. His constant engagement in a discussion-like way of teaching is extremely effective and encourages the students to think about the material that is currently being covered. His effectiveness as a teacher far exceeds that of any of the other math professors at UCI!

He really makes you think about what you know and do not know during class, which most professors don't do. He is also really good at answering questions. He appears really dedicated to the students and the subject. I feel like he really cares for us and how we do in the class, such as that one time he arranged an extra discussion session.

Very good lecturer, makes concepts a lot easier to understand. Very helpful in office hours for questions on the homework. Midterm easy, Final hard, but do-able. Overall very good professor, and probably the only professor that uses Linux for an OS.

He's a very good lecturer. His exams are tough, but homework is extra credit, so do the homework because you will need the practice and the points. Also, make sure he knows if you need help. He's extremely helpful if you go to him.

Dr. Petrov has been BY FAR the best instructor I have had at UCI. He has taught the class to think like mathematicians, rather than memorize and "spit back" formulas. Although I am not taking this class because it is mandatory, I will forever be grateful for the math skills I have learned from Dr. Petrov. Thanks!

Yeah he can teach and all that good stuff but seriously this guy is a complete jerk. He is totally elitist and plays favorites with the students who kisses his rear and to top it off he makes things unnecessarily hard. Stay away from this professor because you'll have a miserable time.
