His teaching style was effective overall, but he is far too lenient with students who don't do the work or do not belong in a college-level writing class. When I asked him to be my adviser, he looked incredibly disappointed and later made what I took to be a fairly insulting comment about my major to another student. Take his courses for an easy A.

Overall I thought he was a really good prof. He's always available to meet if you need help. It's a fairly easy class if you read the story, because in class all you do is talk about the story. He usually goes off track when talking and brings up other articles, or world news which can be interesting. He has a good sense of humor, if you catch on.

Braver is a nice guy, a little weird, not in a bad way. Maybe a little self conscious. Tends to allow too much BS in discussion of literature, could stand to be more critical of students once in awhile. Overall, enjoyed his class.

I really liked him. He honestly does not hand out an A which is annoying but he's a good guy. Classes are filled with discussions which are actually interesting. He's funny and approachable as well. A great person to take for Lit Phil. Do well on the couple of tests and assignments and you should get a B.

This guy is in LOVE with himself. Often uses his own work when giving examples of the "correct" ways to write, and thinks he knows way more than he does. If you're looking for the ultimate stereotype in college professors, this guy's your man. I wouldn't be surprised if, somewhere in his home, there's a mirror with kiss-marks on it.

He is the only creative writing teacher I've heard of that gives a fianl exam and not just a portfolio. Really, he should be teaching English not writing. The only writing we did was a few poems, one story, and a bunch of "craft anotations."
