Comment:

Learning about some of the TV history is pretty interesting but it can also be really boring. The prof is fine, not too friendly, but not mean either. The class isn't too hard as long as you pay attention.

He's a good professor that is willing to help, all you have to do is ask for it. He knows so much about this topic! The tests are exceptionally tough though, but if you pay attention, take good notes and complete the study guides you'll do fine.

He should not be teaching this class. I just took his final and there was a ton of material that was not covered on the study guide, as per usual, and he didn't even have my quiz from two weeks ago graded. He doesn't use blackboard and an actual textbook. His tests and quizzes are quite difficult and the whole class is just extremely unnecessary.

The lectures were boring and quizzes/tests were very hard! There are only tests and quizzes in this class and no other way to make up your grades. There was no text book but you had to read online chapters. He gives study guides that lack material on tests. You definitely will have to study hard for this class if you want to do well!

Freshman/transfers have to take him (as of this review). No physical book/blackboard used - all online readings. This is a history class: the lectures can be boring. He will answer questions and probably help after class if needed. He gives review sheets for most quizzes/tests - find the answers, study them, get your grade and move on with life.

Comment:

His class is boring and he really did nothing for students who can not pass his exams. I am a international student and I really can not understand what he wanted to talk about. I think I will fail in this class because of his teaching, and which is means I can not choose any media major classes during spring semester. Do not choose this professor if you have any other choice!!!!!!!!

His voice is monotonous, and he lacked any effort in trying to make this class easy to learn. There was no Blackboard for the class, so getting your grades was difficult. And since tests are really the only grade, if you fail to do well on his poorly worded exams, you're screwed. And he lacks any compassion for a student who is struggling.

He should not be teaching a class that is depending on my, and other students futures. He came in after spring break and completely changed the way the class was taught. He is a dry, boring teacher and about half of the class still comes. He is knowledgable about the information but he doesnt make any of us want to learn it.

To be honest, as a morning class, this guy makes no effort to make class interesting at all. He rambles through the whole lecture in monotone and his tests are difficult. Only about half of the class shows up anymore. As a mandatory class a an MDIA major, he should not be the teacher to be a deciding factor on whether or not I get into my major.

He is a great teacher. Funny, helpful and very concise by using study guides with page numbers to find the info. One paper that was easy to write. Only complaint is that his multiple choice tests are pretty difficult and confusing. The choices are all so similiar! If he lets you chose the format say short answer its way way way easier!

I've taken 2 classes with him already and i'm taking another one next quarter. he's very laid back and easy going. sometimes his lectures are boring, but overall i really like his classes. he gives study guides that tell exactly what is on the exams, so it's not hard to get an A.

Comment:

Doesnt take attendance, but I recommend attending class; however you can get away with never going as long as you get the notes from someone. He goes over the answers to the test. Pay attention and it is the easiest A. Great guy too. Class also requires no participation whatsoever.

I love this guy. He knows what he's talking about and is really clear about it. The class was interesting and he was a lot of fun. The tests were pretty hard, but the journals help bring your grade up. I got a C on the first test, but ended up with an A- in the class. I'd definitely take another class with him!

In the history of broadcasting class, he was very unorganized and wasn't even there for half of the classes. You think he'd give us a grade curve for his lacking in the teaching ability but it doesn't happen. Try to get a better teacher for this class.
