Prof Ball is a great instructor. He appears very tough and mean but he's really cool. Class isn't easy though. He covers ALMOST everything in lecture. Still you have to read the textbook if you want an A or a B. 4 exams 50 multiple choice 2-3 short essay ?'s TAKE DETAILED NOTES. Study hard! He is a very knowledgable prof. Good luck!

This class is ridiculously difficult! Although he lectures on all the information you'll need on the exams, it's all in such great detail & amount, that it's difficult to retain it all. The information explained is very clear, though. And he's very willing to work with you, if you miss a test. Also grades on a curve.

He is an amazing teacher, as long as you listen to his lectures and write everything down you will do fine, but this means you need to go to class. Hes a really down to earth guy and relates the topic to real life situations that help clarify the material. I did horrible in bio in high school and now I actually understand it.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I HOPE I DONT GET "C" OR LOWER IN THIS CLASS. The tests get progressively harder and everything can't be memorized in such a short time. I will try my best without a doubt, because even if i do try best i still get B or C. So if I dont try my best I will fail the class the way this guy grades. Lots of folks drop out.

Made my semester miserable. Grade only based on 5 tests, in which the material is NOT previously covered in lecture very well. Felt unsure after every test.I studied the textbook(not easy reading),did the study guide and went online (w/ the program in the book). Spent hours studying,felt prepared, took test, and thought i failed. Lecture=no help

Hard class. Tests are basically on chemistry. Teaches a lot of chemistry in relation to Bio. Memorize the lecture and book and tests are easy. But this is a near impossible task if you are taking a lot of classes. I don't recommend!

He's retired but still teaching. I actually took him for 107 AND 230 back in 1997/98. His sections were the only ones that fit my schedule. Since he curves, getting a C is easy; B or A, very difficult. Very monotone, hardly ever smiles, but does crack a funny joke every once and a while. Don't badger him or he won't like you. Tough Teacher!

As long as you show up to class and take notes on the lecture you should do well. The class is hard for people who don't try or like Biology. But great for bio majors. He gives you the essay test questions before the test. He grades on a curve so just do better than eveyone else

EXCELLENT teacher!! even though the class was ridiculously difficult i really enjoyed listening to him lecture about biology. if you want to do well on the tests i suggest reading the text book RELIGIOUSLY at home. Most students only came to class to take the exams and just read the book at home to prep. if u read the book constantly you will pass.

This was the WORST teacher I have ever taken!! He makes class even more boring than it already is. He gives 5 tests with essay questions. He does'nt give any study guides or give any idea what is going to be on the test... DONT TAKE HIM

Im speechless when it comes to this teacher. He is the hardest, worst teacher I have every had. Your lucky to get a C in his class. Alomst our whole class recieved D's. It's pointless to study b/c what he lectures on is NOT what is on the exams. Do NOT take this class!!!!!

This man is one of the most terrible professors I've had at Mesa. You can study every waking hour and still fail his exams because he only has questions about the most obscure passages in the book. Why go to lecture, take notes, and fill out a study guide that takes 10 hours to do if that is only 5% of the actualy tested material? Not fair.

Okay lecturer,says offensive sterotyped generalizations about people quite often.His test are rediculous b/c he says what to study & gives you study guide, you study your butt off & then you get all these questions on the test that you have no idea where they came from.He shreds your essays knocking off points for every little detail not included.

Very hard but excellent teacher.He difinately knows his stuff.This class takes up ALL of your time so manage well.Exams are fair but watch our for the essay problems.The way he grades the lab are terrible.His jokes can offend you and he takes no excuses on anything (not even death in the family).

Professor Ball is by far the hardest professor I have had at Mesa. His tests are very difficult but he knows his stuff, and i would recommend him to those of you going into pre med like i am. I hope i end up with a B in the class. He is very hard! Study a lot! GOOD PROFESSOR! DONT WAIT TO STUDY! :)
