Comment:
For a mandatory class when we need to take the MPRE you would think he would mention it at least once in class. Worst. Professor. Ever. Do not take this class because you WILL regret it.

Knowledgeable and kind man, but not a good professor. You have to teach yourself everything. Not very clear, easily gets off topic. Incredibly dry. No rhyme or reason to his grading on the final. Avoid taking him - for anything.

He is by far the worst professor I've ever had and it's ridiculous that we pay to take this idiotic class. He has very limited knowledge of this subject and brings in guest speakers to try and hide his inexperience. The entire class is a joke and I'm still not quite sure how he came up with the grades. Definitely take this class with someone else.

Had him for Prof Resp and for Comparative Crim Pro. Very nice guy, easygoing, but neither class really ever clicked for me. PR speakers were interesting, but Ortwein never really had a cohesive curriculum for that class. But it is a stupid ABA-mandated class anyway, and Ortwein is honest up front about that.

One of the worst professors I've had here. The class is torture to sit through. He is borderline disdainful at times. Some of the guest lecturers were interesting, especially Jim Sokolove for the comedy of it. But otherwise, it's a rough class and does not prepare you at all for the MPRE.

Such a wonderful person and good professor. He really cares about his students and takes time with each. Participate in his class and it will help a lot - his exams are easy if you attend each class as he doesn't like to trick students. Do get to know him outside of class before you leave Suffolk.

Comment:
Pathetic. A discrace to Suffolk Law. He did not teach the course - he broke the class into groups and each group taught a class. That was 60% of the grade. He gave a take home exam and lifted the multiple choice from Barbri and the essay was "make up a question you think is relevant and answer it." He should be fired.

Does not add too much to the subject. None of the cases were relevant to the exam
