Comment:

At first he seems quite intimidating and difficult, but if you make a bit of an effort to get to know him he's actually friendly and eager to help. If you regularly skip class he'll make it clear he doesn't like you, but as long as you're a regular and active student he'll do whatever he can to help you succeed.

If you're taking physics lab and have a choice, take Spiegel. Gives the exact formulas you need, nonchalant and didn't give a final. I might have missed 3 points all year. Not sure how he'd be for lecture, but having him for lab was awesome. A lab with him never took me more than 30 minutes.

seems kinda nice, but a real jerk sometimes, can give an occasional decent lecture, but overall, BAD prof. can't teach most people. Maybe if he knew people were in the room when he is trying to teach it would help. takes easy things and makes them hard. Do NOT take!!

One of the best professors I've had. Not an easy class, but he honestly explains things well, and has good conceptualization. Don't listen to whiny premeds about how hard he is. You will learn alot from this guy. Especially if you go to his office hours.

This class was extremely hard and required tons of studying. I took it as part of my requirement for 2 semesters of physics for a biochem major and for premed, but it's almost purely geared for physics majors.

Freakin' looney, this one. A real nutcase! The tests were very hard as well. I took this as a premed instead of the easier "premed physics" and i didn't get a great grade but it really paid off on the MCAT!

he's a genius. By far, the best prof in physics dept. Dont expect help outside of class though; hes too busy for you. Spends too much time in laser lab if you ask me... what does he do in there?!

This guy IS the nutty professor. Intro Mech. and E&M are tougher courses with him. This guy is a HARD teacher, but he is very helpful and truly wants you to do well. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS. He will explain stuff to you over and over until you get it.
