Comment:

Donna has so much experience in her field and has so much to offer her students. We had five speeches, and they were all very easy topics and incredibly fun to write speeches on. She is very easily distracted and can be disorganized but you will have a lot of fun and will really bond with your classmates. Pay attention to vocab words!

If you have the opportunity to take Donna's public speaking class, take it! There is never really homework, just preparation for the 4-5 speeches throughout the semester. There is no rubric for the speeches, you are graded off of your improvement. Donna is an amazing teacher, very transparent with the students. What you see is what you get!

Really fun personality, very interactive with students. I felt personally that the class is held back a bit due to the open conversations. Syllabus didnt provide due dates, there given in about a weeks notice.

4 speeches, she is lenient on the first one and then expects you to improve personally with each one. She gives good feedback and lets the class give feedback. She is often late and disorganized, though. Pay attention to the terms and definitions she gives you and you'll do fine on the tests.

Donna Motta is an incredible teacher, writer, and public speaker. She taught both my english, and public speaking class in the fall of 2016. She genuinely cares about her students, and will go above and beyond to help them succeed. She is beyond educated in both fields, and knows how to motivate you to be successful. BCC is lucky to have her!

I had her Fall 14, lets just say DISASTER. First of all she is so unorganized, she rants on and on, sometimes it funny but sometimes you just want her to stop. You don't really learn much, don't miss class because you will be on her bad side, and DONT ask about her political views or about her view on drugs if you want to waste an hr of your life.

If you're anything like me, you hate group projects- and she assigned a lot of them. Nothing difficult to complete, but annoying for early morning classes. She's a sucker for class participation, so if you try to stay involved in class discussions, or simply show up to class and answer when she calls on you; you'll be fine. Textbooks are a must.

She is not recommended at all, very disorganized she can lose your papers, she forgot to post the grades in access bcc, she doesn't have instruction for the assigned home work, she talks a lot about her talk show, disrespectful very rude and disorganized, I didn't gain any benefit with her the tutor in the writing center was more knowledgable :(

It’s been 20 years since the last time I was in school and especially terrified taking English. Donna was great in teaching the material as well as helping to understand topics. Very unique professor... Although she was very out there, her class was ALWAYS interesting and upbeat. She made me excited to be up at 8AM. Show up, and listen to her lecture and you will without a doubt pass that class with flying colors. Recommend her to everyone!

Donna Motta, is truly a majot asset to the English Department at BCC. Yes she's unique, and yes she's a little out there, but she is the first woman to EVER make me fall in love with Enlish Lit!! She knows her stuff and really takes you into the stories she assigns in the text to make you understand the true meaning!! TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!!!!!
