During COVID she was extremely rude to the all the students in the class. She got better as the semester went on but by the end she seemed to give up on the class and barely interacted with us.

I think a lot of people don't give Professor Fischer a fair chance. She has a hearing disability, and so additional noises such as phones can mess with her hearing. Stop being so impolite!! Her class was very lecture heavy, not a lot of chances for questions, but I like that they weren't a repeat of the reading. The history textbook LearnSmart sux.

I have never in my life had a teacher that has disrespected her class more. When the semester ends and the professor blames the students for her lack of effort and desire to teach the course, it makes the course difficult to get through even if you do the work. It appears that Professor Fischer does not respect her students or their education.

AVOID having her as your prof! Says we MUST talk in class but she lectures the entire period never giving us a chance to speak. Cancelled our written exams halfway through the semester so it would better accommodate her. She can be difficult to understand. Picks favorites. Doesn't explain what will be on tests. Tests are essay heavy. Temperamental!

You use McGraw Hill for the reading. Her lectures are all over the place. She is unorganized and syllabus has changed SEVERAL times. Said this to a student, "If you were paying attention in class you would know" when asked about the final (not on syllabus). Class causes unnecessary stress. The way she grades is confusing, and does it by "points".

AVOID AT ALL COST. If you want to pass don't take any of her classes. She picks favorites and if your not one of her favorites do not expect to pass. She very hard to understand. If you go to every class but don't talk your participation grade with plumit. Please whatever you do don't take any of her classes.

Really just not a great professor. Extremely disorganized, lectures are all over the place. She gives us quizzes on the lectures, but doesn't tell us what we should be paying attention to since she doesn't write much on the board. Assigns up to 5 assignments due on the same day, but doesn't tell us about them in class. Didn't learn much if anything

I think people are too hard on Professor Fischer. I thought that she did a good job teaching the course, and seemed to care for her students. Also, she was very accommodating when I lost power and was unable to take the online midterm. If you go to class, and study for the midterm and final, you will do fine.

Professor Fischer has the best of intentions, but jsut doesnt deliver her best to students. She was very critical of other peoples opinions and would change temperment very randomly. Said we needed the books but barely read them. Also had us use an online program that took some people weeks to figure out how to use, and the issue was her fault.

Professor Fischer rarely attends class; she will always have an outlandish excuse for it, with inconsistencies. She does NOT appreciate students sharing opinions that don't go in line with hers, and will regularly call students out for being wrong. She can be a nice woman under some circumstances, but the worst professor in the history department.

Scatter brained. Did not follow the syllabus. Doesn't know how to use canvas. VERY feminist. Her opinion is law, if you disagree she throws a fit. Did not learn anything from her class. Don't take her class at all costs.

I had Fischer for Womens History and it was the worst class I have ever taken. She does not care about your opinion unless it goes along with hers, she forced the class to buy a $2+ app so she could monitor phone use and when talking about womens history she never fully delved into other women of different races during discussions. AVOID HER

She is a wonderful lady, rarely, but a terrible teacher. She is extremely annoying in class. If your phone is out at all she will snatch it out of your hand. She changed the syllabus over 5 times in the course of a week. Lost everything. Not understanding at all with certain matters, i.e. if it does not pertain to class she does not care.

It is really interesting to see Fischer still teaching. When I took her, she was cancelling half of her classes in a semester. When it was brought to the chair of her department, she came to the next class ready for revenge. That was 10 years ago and students are still making the same complaints.

awful teacher, had no clarity and explained nothing to us the entire semester, she expects us to use some website but gives no explanation how. Hardcore feminist and focuses on women's history over the big picture. She is very vindictive and gets angry easily. Cancels class frequently, yet attendance is mandatory. Do not recommend, stay away.

Dr. Fischer had a lot going on personally and it negatively affected her teaching. Almost half of the classes for the semester were cancelled. She changed the syllabus several times, and should not have taught this course. She is difficult to understand and expect too much for hardly showing up herself. Avoid this instructor.

STAY AWAY FROM ANY CLASS SHE TEACHES. Often makes no sense and you never know what is expected in this class. She is hard to understand and all assignments seem pointless... didn't learn anything.

Eccentric. I absolutely loved her. I could tell she truly loves what she's teaching. Feminist to the core, which I'm happy has made some of my male classmates cry about. I would take another class with her, just probably not a 3 hour long, 1 day a week course. It was an easy grade and she was very caring and entertaining.

this semester prof. fischer attempted a role playing teaching method. While I appreciate that it was a work in progress, her disorganization, mood swings, and inability to focus hurt many of our grades. She seems like a nice woman but has no business teaching. Avoid at all costs.
