This is a man who name-calls students and puts them down in class yet writes about education and professional ethics. Go figure.

Howard is a very bright guy and has a lot of interesting things to say, but he is not much of a teacher. If you are looking for the same guy who wrote his books, don't take his class. It's like two different people.

Comment:
He may be "brilliant", however his ego is about 10 times as large as his intellect. He is a poor teacher, and his "research" is shaky at best. Take his classes only if you have to - at a place like Harvard, there are real gems to be found, and Professor Gardner is not one of them.

Brilliant mind, brilliant author, brilliant researcher. Not so much a teacher but he doesn't pretend to be one. He forces hard questions and treats everyone like his collegues - no babysitting whiners here. Don't split an infinitive in your paper unless you are prepared to be publicly ridiculed. ;) Worth it to see a leading scholar at work.

I took this class in order to experience a seminar with a thinker and writer I had admired for years. You will rarely come across a clearer thinker and a more careful thinker. It is a challenge. He can be blunt, as he acknowledges, and that may not always be a virtue. Nonetheless, I was inspired to reach beyond myself. Take this course.

Howard is one big ego, and only wants to hear his own ideas parrotted back to him. He has no interest in students' original conceptions.

Uncaring. Huge ego. Dismissive of students and their ideas. Is this the same man that wrote the book about "Multiple Intelligences" and "Good Work"? He needs to read his own books.

Comment:
Unfortunately, this prof. does not value students or teaching. A big disappointment given that he is revered by most educators. The only intelligence Gardner seems to truly respect is his own (narrow one).
