This is one of the most uncomfortable classes I have ever taken She believes that everything you write (INCLUDING FIRST DRAFTS) must be perfect and even if you do well she will find things that Are distinctly untrue to comment on. Just to make you unsure of your self I would never take her class again. This was my first English class of college smh

Horrible teacher thinks her students are supposed to be professional writers. Had to withdraw from her class made everything very stressful acts like your work isnt good enough.

Horrible teacher. Does not help when you have questions. Makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Teachers are there to teach and not make students feel incompetent. Horrible!

Clear syllabus- sticks to it. make sure to read assignments. essays will be focused around them. the essay assignments allowed free thinking. there was a clear assignment but a little room for you to kind of choose your own topic which kept things interesting. Make sure to read the course content (CR&W) and refer back to it as needed, it helps

She is a tough grader but if you are a conscience writer, she is the teacher for you. I felt that she graded fair and was one of my far better profs of the semester. Really enjoys what she teaches. She has a dry sense of humor though, that may sometimes not be clear to some.

The whole semester I felt I had done well. I never missed an assignment and the papers I had handed in got me an A and A- respectively. When it came time to the final I had messed up on an aspect of MLA format and failed the class regardless of having an A in it. For being my first college class it was very discouraging and I would not reccomend

I would never take this class again even if it was the last class I needed to graduate. If you want a teacher who is unapproachable, arrogant, and rude then she is the teacher for you. There is some sort of paper draft due every class throughout the semester. She talks to every student as if you are bothering her.

Janet Clark is an excellent professor. I would certainly recommend her. She gives a very clear grading rubric. Sufficient amount of time for papers. She followed the syllabus to a T. You knew exactly what to expect and when assignments were due. Be on time to class, turn in assignments on time, and participate. You can tell she loves teaching.

I personally loved this class, mostly because of the professor who taught it! I have taken english classes in the past in which the professor is too laid back and does not care to educate their students. She made sure everything we read was clear and understood, very straightforward but easy to talk to and ask questions!Overall amazing professor!

Took this course last fall 13 semester and was very difficult for half the class. She expects student's work to be perfect and does not give second chances. Not reccomended at all. She is clear to what is expected, but too strict and boring class. Take another professor if you can, you;ll regret it half way the semster.

I hated this class. I could not stand the way the class was. It felt like a book club which is not what I am spending my money for. I learned absolutely nothing in this class. It was boring, not challenging and she thought us nothing all she did was gave us her opinion on what she think the author is trying to say. I recommend not to take her class

Janet is one of my favorites ever. Eloquent and thought provoking lecturer. Accommodating professor. Keep in mind: children's lit has a ton of reading and a fair bit of writing. Nothing too hard... there's just a ton of it.

I took composition II with her and i love it, its alot of reading but thats how we learn. She was always there to help me, she looks like a serious person but when you take class with her or talk to her you'll know that she is an Angel. I like the way she teach. Excellent teacher. Really knows her stuff. You might sometimes need to ask about assignments because what she's looking for isn't always clear, but she's always available through e-mail so it's very easy to get in touch with her. A lot of reading, but it's not difficult. Just stay on top of the work.
