Course taught at Georgetown. No prerequisites, but it was extremely hard to follow without extensive background knowledge of Islam. Participation is 30% of your grade, the final paper 70%; class is over and I have absolutely no idea of my grade, even though I've done all the readings and participated in every class.

One of the most invoking teachers. I did not always agree with her but she got the class thinking.

Comment:

She's not friendly. She flaunts her being European -- her being French (when she's really not, obviously!). Lectures are hard to understand (the accent!). She's very strict about everything. But she knows her stuff.
