I took Analysis Clothing Selection over the summer, and I was really just there for the credits, but I'm very happy that I took his class. He doesn't look like how you would expect a fashion teacher to, and that's just fine; he's pretty chill, and as long as you attend the classes and pay attention you'll get an A and have fun doing it. :)

Comment:

People wanting to be in the fashion industry are expecting it to be cutting magazine clippings and talking about the latest style. They don't realize that they have to actually have to work hard and learn new things. This instructor is not here for individual tutoring. Even though this a fashion class, its also a college class. Sewing takes time!!

Worst teacher I've ever taken. Relies on independent study, even though this is a beginners sewing class! Gave us wrong material when we paid our fee for the class. Says right materials are wrong. Lectures all class and only have 1/2 hour to work on projects. Unorganized. Doesn't teach in class. Relies on TA's to do work for him.

This class had a negative effect on my emotional health and was stressful.He tells us to do notes based on his lectures, but I have short-term memory loss.He doesn't give out worksheets telling us how to do projects.Don't buy the materials fee, it's a waste of money.This is not a beginner's class.If u want to learn to sew, stay away from this class

He does not know how to teach. Although he claims to not talk much, one time we only spent 10 min at the end of class to start our samples. He does not tell us how to do all the samples and tells us to go on youtube and do further research. You might as well self-teach yourself. He's not clear how to do any projects. Stay away from this class.

love textiles. I learnd alot. If u pay attention nd do the hw then he will make sure u pass. Textiles r a bit hard 2 get at first but after a while once u get the making nd the different between the main 2 "knitted nd woven" class goes fast nd easy

This teacher is so frustrating. He assigns a ton of homework, but doesn't actually teach you anything. When he assigns homework and projects he is very unclear with due dates and what is expected. The group projects are very difficult and time consuming. It is frustrating to work so hard as a student and to have a teacher that is not working hard.

I was very disappointed. I didn't really learn anything. I can't even remember anything we learned because I had to read everything out of a book. He doesn't go over much out of the books and just assigns a lot of homework. It was very disappointing.

He's a nice guy & I have a lot of respect for him. I can tell he knows a lot about textiles but I feel that he isn't able to relay information very well to students. Assignments can be confusing bc he says one thing but expects something else. Big on projects & group work. I got an A but at times his class got stressful.

a LOT of outside the class work. not very organized approach. i felt there was a lot of work going on but not as much learning going along with it, plus a bit of scattered drama. i ended up having to drop because of being overloaded. plus i felt i wasn't learning what i needed as far as progressing my knowledge for fashion design.

EXCELLENT intstructor. Ken was spot on with timely, relavent information and a helpful attitude. I took his class over the summer and truly enjoyed it. Now I can sew. Thanks, Ken!

Ken is a GREAT teacher, very knowledgeable on his subjects, easy to talk to, helpful, and funny as hell. Homework can be hard because his worksheets don't match up with the information in the book, but take home projects are fun and easy to get a good grade on.

Ken is a great teacher, but I think it is important that he feels respected by you in order to take you seriously. He has taught me a lot about working in theater, care of clothing, pattern manipulation, etc. He is also VERY VERY funny :) Costuming is a very casual and fun enviroment!
