I took his class on fall, my spring semester just begin, n he still havent updated the grade yet, he dont use any tools online, such as canvas, he mentioned he dont know how to use it, he suggested the student to call him instead of email, instructions are not clear, n he dont care about his student. I wonder does he even wanna teach

he is such an easy grader and his classes are not mandatory! I loved going to his lectures and learned alot, I personally do not like when teachers want to talk to me and I like that he doesn't! I had 4 grades in his class 2 10pg papers, Mid-term and final. It was easy tho! I'm a freshman and took a junior class and if I can get an A YOU CAN TOO !!

Super nice professor. Easy classes. Assigns long papers but is a very easy and forgiving grader. Tests are super easy.

Amazing guy. Really cares for his students I didn't have the book and he let me use his own personal book the whole semester! Take him although his accent is strong he know what he's talking about and is so passionate about history . He always smiling too

Comment:

Kenneth Okeny is a sweet man who means well. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches... it's just the way he teaches. His accent is is distracting and makes what he is saying hard to understand. Plus, I've never been in a more lecture heavy class in my life. It is my earliest class and I cannot stay awake, so please beware!

Incredibly easy class. If you just do the work you'll literally get an A. I don't even think he reads the papers that he assigns, every one that i wrote was an A no matter how bad it seemed or how short it was. His accent is bad at the beginning, but you get used to it, and the lectures are boring as hell,

As pretty much all of the other reviews say, yes, this professor is very boring and just lectures, but he is very nice & the tests are open book and notes. There are two 10 papers to do but if you just read the sections they are easy. They don't even have to be 10 full pages, as long as you get the point across & make the paper sound good, its an A

Okay, first and foremost, his classes can be extremely boring. He lectures on the blackboard for the entire class, and he has a pretty thick accent which forces you to listen very carefully. However, he is an extremely nice man and his classes are extremely easy. Tests were open notes, and he generously graded the book reviews. Worth the boredom

Lectures all day long and has very messy notes on the board; however, this is the easiest class you will ever take. Wrote a 6 page paper that was supposed to be 10 and got a solid A-. He's a really nice guy, and if you like REALLY laid back classes--take Okeny.

Really nice guy. But all he does is lecture. He gives you all of the assignments on the first day and tells you when its due. So so so boring. But if you don't like history I would suggest his class. I learned absolutely nothing but it was the easiest A i received.

He's a very nice professor, always smiling and really into everything he says. I really couldn't understand him but his midterm was open book so it was easy. He does expect 2 8-10 page papers and also 1 group presentation.

He seems to be a nice guy but he asks for too much. He wants you to do two major projects, 10 pages each! He just talks the whole class, you basically do all the work. I was there for half the semester and I dropped it cause it was no help and I wasn't learning anything.

The most boring class I ever took. He rambles on about 10 different subjects per class and expects you to remember everything. He doesn't put any notes online. He wants you to do a mid term, final and two 10 page papers for a grade. He expects you to use 3 books for his class. He is very unclear and hard to understand. Stay away from him!!!

He was very easy and nice. Went to every class because he takes attendance. He lectures the entire class. He assigned 1 group project 2 10-15page papers (the only time I used the book), the midterm was open book and notes (he gave us the questions ahead of time), and the final he gave us the questions ahead of time so we could prepare. Def.take him

Nice teacher. Answers any questions you have. Thick accent. Notes all over the place. Easy class. Gives you all the material on the midterm before. Boring but would recommend for an easy class. He definitely knows what he is talking about too.

Gives you the answers before the midterm and final, then got to use our notebooks and books for the midterm and final. Attendance is mandatory, but taken by signing in and he doesn't know anyones name so friends can sign you in. I sued his class to get other work done. You should take him for an easy class
