Professor Finnigan is a very caring individual. He wants to give students more than just what is on the syllabus. He wants to help with real life skills! You can't show up to work late, so don't show up to his class late... Be there early. Put the effort in and it is worth it!

I took this professor many semesters ago. Before taking his course, my writing was in need of a little minor improvement and with Finnigan's help, I have been writing more properly than how I used to. He may be a bit on the sarcastic side at times, but just remember to not take it personal. His class was always great, too. Always had a fun class.

I took a hybrid course with Finnigan & he was an awful teacher. Honestly, if you're going to be late, absent, or lazy, do not take his class! I did well only because I knew he didn't like me, so I put my best forward. He rambles on a lot and is extremely specific on how he likes you to organize your writing. He also barely gives you good feedback.

Took the hybrid course with prof. Finningan. Very straightforward grading system, one 2 page paper due each week more or less + discussion posts online. He rambles on and on and on in class & has a specific format for his papers that you MUST follow. Personally, the format aided me but it may stifle others. Easy class if you can bang out papers.

I'm taking the hybrid course and I definitely recommend this professor. Don't take this class if you don't want to learn and you just want to bullsht. He's a great professor who challenges you to do better and is passionate about his work. We always have interesting class discussions and I love hearing him lecture.

Professor returned papers with comments full of grammatical errors/typos. Wasn't clear in his assignments. A technical writer agreed with me on this. Overly critical of writers work. I withdrew from his class because I had higher standards.

He is passionate when speaking about the literature we read and keeps his lectures interesting by making jokes and having fun. There are several plays to read which may be intimidating, but the assignments on them aren't difficult at all and if you pay attention in class, many of the more analytical questions can be answered with lecture info.

He's funny, witty, sarcastic. Doesn't want to hear your pathetic excuses of why your work is late or why you didn't come to class. Go to class do his work and pass it in on time. His grading is straight forward and clear. You know how he grades papers before you pass it in. I recommend his hybrid course for anyone! Great all around guy.

I took this professor last year for english and i loved him so much that i took him again for a lit class Hes hillarious i never had a boring moment in that class His homework is not hard but not that easy if you dont do well on a assignment he'll leave comments telling u what to do to help u improve unless you dnt come to class you'll pass

This is a tough class with many complicated assignments and I agree with the other person that it's a bit repetitive. I did like the fact that he gave feedback on all submitted work. Prof Finnigan stays on top of his online classes. He responds to everyone on discussion and gets grades back to you real fast. The assignments are fairly easy. Sometimes the directions are longwinded, but he's always available to ask about it.

His assignments are painfully irrelevant and obnoxiously repetitive. For the most part, all of the papers were based around the same subject matter, and gave very little room for creativity. His actual written instructions were very difficult to understand and most of the time were grammatically incorrect, with many typos strewn throughout.
