Her incisive, creative mind is gift enough to her students. But Professor Patton is also one of those rare people who combines a no-nonsense attitude with deep compassion, empathy, and spiritual and academic generosity. I feel very privileged to have taken several classes with her, and still think of her often and fondly. I owe my degree to her.

Prof. Patton is not only an overwhelmingly well-versed professor, very erudite, and eloquent, she is also a wonderful, deeply spiritual, and insightful woman. I learned a lot in more than one dimention from her. I recommend any of her courses to anyone looking for intellectual challenges and personal enrichment.
