oh my goooood it's been over a year but I can still remember how unbearable lectures were!! Yes, it is like listening to poetry, impossible to take notes. The textbook, however, was amazingly clear and enjoyable. I learned SO much...just not from Ned Blackhawk.

Great teacher. Really knows his material and has studied under some of the best people for this material, ie Richard White.

seems like a nice guy, but extremely boring lectures. it's a power lecture and he reads as if he's reading poetry from a book. his class parallels the book, which makes the class understandable if you do the reading. the tests are very managebale, as youre given the questions beforehand. take it if youre willing to read. lecture is optional

Prf. Blackhawk is a really nice guy, but he reeeaaalllly needs to shape up as a lecturer....I'm pretty sure no one takes a single note for the first half hour of lecture because he keeps repeating the same thing over and over and over and over....I haven't been to a lecture since the first two...but he goes right by the book, which is nice.

By far one of the worst professors I've ever had. He rambles on about absolutely nothing the whole lecture. Thank God this stuff is High School material and the exams are a breeze.

Native American history is a great class. Blackhawk provides an alternative view of history not seen in many textbooks. Engaging lecturer.
