Comment:

Machinist is a great scholar but in the classroom he is often hard to figure out. You feel as though he wants you to read his mind and he is frustrated when you cannot. He spends way too much time with his undergrad advisees, often shafting his doctoral students. Even so, his "history of scholarship" class is one of the best at NELC
