I didn't like Professor Desharnais at first but she proved to be sympathetic, encouraging and kind. If anything she sets the bar too low but it's because it's community college classes. I enjoyed her lectures, and her assignments were fun. If anything I wanted more of a challenge/less dumbing down of concepts. Love her though, very sweet !

Comment:
She's a very respectful lady and is there for her students. Her grading is simple: attendance, research paper, and topic paper. Also, 5 quizzes throughout the semester, but drops the lowest quiz grade. Quizzes are very simple because she gives a study guide of exactly what's on the quiz. The final is the research paper which is a big plus.

Sociology is not a very hard class. Reading the textbook is recommended by her, however, she passes out study guides so don't fret if you forgot a chapter or two. Overall, she is a very nice woman and cares deeply about social justice.

I love the passion she has for the course. She is an amazing person who love her students. The test is very clear cut as long as you use the study guide she gives you. If you participate, you will love you because she wants to hear what you have to say. Do the extra credit because it will help!
