Good guy, will help you at any opportunity. Lectures are long with Powerpoints but its all online. If you skip class you won't be able to hear what he says which is more important than the slides themselves. Gives ALOT of Extra credit.

Comment:

It's a really easy class, but then again I like the content. Lenhart's older, has a lot of exhausting stories and is a pretty boring lecture. I almost fell asleep and I'm in the major. Easy, easy lecture portion though. Show up, try to pay attention, you'll do well on exams. (Lab not as easy, different teacher). He's retiring soon.

Dr. Lenhart is a really nice guy. His lectures can be a bit long, but he always shows funny videos before class starts. He gives good examples and metaphors during lecture, the hardest part is just paying attention and going to class because he posts his notes on D2L. His tests aren't too terrible as long as you pay attention

This referring only to lecture side of Geology 105. Lenhart is the best! There's no homework - only Exams and possible extra credit opportunities. He's a pretty lenient grader and always willing to help! I went to him for my lab work (had a different prof for lab) and he was way more helpful than anyone I had gone to previously.

Nicest professor i've ever had but he doesn't teach lab & his lab instructor, LIOGYS is terrible, worst instructor I've ever had in my life. I loved Lenhart, he was great. but the lab ruined it for me. Make sure to check out all the awful comments about LIOGYS before you take this class. I wouldn't take it if you don't need to, only because of lab.

Dr. Lenhart is a great professor who is really passionate about geology. Lectures can get a little off topic sometimes but i always thought it made things more interesting. Volunteer at his museum and ask questions after class.

Nice guy, explains things very well so everyone can understand. He sends you class powerpoints so you always have the notes and test material. I missed easily 8 classes and studied for about 2 hrs and got a 101% on the final. Beware the lab work with the other professor is amazingly hard

Dr. Lenhart is boring and the 5 tests he gives over the course of the semester are tricky and tedious. The textbook is NEVER used but he expects you to buy it. I do not recommend taking this class with Lenhart to anyone.

All of the material is from powerpoints that you print off and bring to class. Easy and interesting. Attendance is not mandatory, and you can print off the notes, so it's tempting to skip. But if you skip you're going to see it in your grade so this class is for those with self control.

Nice guy, bad professor. The only thing he grades are the tests that he makes really difficult. There's a lot of material on tests that he doesn't cover in class nor in the book. Study the TERMS!!! He likes to throw around random, useless terms that you'll never hear again in your life-- good luck though, there's a lot of them.

Dr. Lenhart is a good man. He is very friendly and easy to approach when you need assistance. I believe that he made and effort to get to know all of the students in the geology program. He often cancels class or leaves lab early because he has to handle administrative matters, but offers lots of extra credit, so I never worried about my grade.

At first, I was discouraged by how difficult the tests can be, but if you study all of the notes thoroughly, you can get A's in this class. Some people may think the tests are too difficult, but the key is that he teaches you how to think and apply material. If you have any questions, he is happy to help, but you have to let him know you're trying.

not helpful, very boring, not very easy to work with. however the lab teacher is the best!
