Comment:
Professor Mejias-Lopez is great--passionate about his subject, engaging in class, and inspiring. There's a lot of reading and homework assignments will take up a lot of your time, but all of the quizzes are fair and he gives study guides with all of the questions in advance. He has high expectations for written work, but is a very fair grader!

He is a very nice guy and a pretty good professor. Classes aren't too bad and he makes the exams/quizzes very fair. However, the downside is the stupid amount of homework he gives you. It will take hours, especially over the weekend and requires a ton of time for reading and a lot of time for answering the questions.

Alejandro is the head of the Spanish department, so he's the cream of the crop. His classes are intellectually challenging, but he's an inspirational teacher who really cares about his students. He's flexible and makes his lectures as interesting as possible. You'll have to read, but you'll love him enough to make up for it. Take him if you can!

This was an 8 week class so the heavy reading was inevitable. Professor Mejias-Lopez was extremely understanding when a family emergency happened. He really knows his stuff and is more than willing to go over it again and differently so that you understand the material. One of the best Professors I've ever had in my 3 years of college.

If you're eligible to take his class, TAKE IT! He is an AWESOME teacher. He genuinely cares about his students. He's methodical, clear, his tests and essays are always fairly graded. His class is challenging intellectually, but not harsh on your GPA. He knows so much about Modernism, the boom of SA writers -- never wanted to miss his class.

He's AMAZING. Definitely the best Spanish professor I've ever had. I actually want to go to class, and I don't want class to end. This has by far been one of the best Spanish classes I have ever taken.

Favorite Spanish professor! Strongly recommend; very passionate, insightful, and encouraging. S308 was my favorite class of the semester. It required some deep thinking, but little work outside of class :)

He really cares how his students are doing. His 331 class has more reading near the end, but it is all very doable. He is a great guy, and I would recommend him!

He assigns a load of reading and expects every word to be read but his lectures are clear and make students think a lot. He gave the best 20-min summary of 19th-cent Argentine history I've ever heard and I've heard a few.

Great professor. His poetry exam was absolute murder though. I did however get an A on it, so it's possible.
