Wonderful professor and class. The reading/discussion was interesting and I learned a ton. You need to do a decent amount of reading for the class, but it's manageable; also it's a W class so there was 7 papers: four 2-3page ones and three 4-5page ones. He's a easy grader, lenient about deadlines, and the nicest person ever.

Dr. Erbe was one of the kindest professors I've ever had, and he was very laid back about due dates and discussions. At times the class got boring, and I'll admit that I fell asleep every once in a while, but he was also funny and had great insight to the stories we were reading. Definitely recommend him.

Loved him! One of the nicest people I've ever met, kinda like if the sweetest grandpa ever decided to read you some stories! This class was much more work then expected, but showed me that I could be a pretty good writer. Stories were interesting and discussions were light and fun. I'd for sure recommend taking him to fulfill a writing gen ed!

Prof. Erbe is one of the sweetest people I've ever met! He's super understanding, and an easy grader. However, i still learne d a ton in his class and reading and writing. He chooses good stories for the most part, and discussions are interesting. I definitely recommend his class!

Dr. Erbe is absolutely fantastic. New Lit was a fun and interesting class, and if you can't read every time, it's not the end of the world. You can also miss up to 4 classes without being penalized, just email him beforehand, he's super understanding. It was a really laid-back atmosphere, & discussions were almost always interesting. Fantastic!

What an amazing professor! I took UHC Reading Poetry with him. I knew nothing about poetry before taking it, but I really think I have a handle on it now. I looked forward to his class. He manages to be easy and still teach you a whole lot. He's also a very nice and good humored man.

Believe the hype. Very nice professor, keeps discussions of novels low-key and doesn't force people to participate day-in-day out. Just go to class and attempt the essays to get an A. Will also proof-read essays ahead of time, which can be nice if you work ahead. Typically flexible on essay topics and won't kill you over grammer and syntax.

Dr. Erbe is the best and funny and kind. Had him for Shakespeare and Short Story. Extremely helpful likes papers sent to him via email. Chooses great books and stories. Never heard a student complain about him. Very funny/sincere.

Erbe is the best lit professor ever. hes really interesting and leads the class in a discussion style. the papers are not overly demanding, and he will always let you give it to him early to go over. if you do this and follow his suggestions you are practically guarenteed an A. this was my favorite class.

Incredibly nice, almost too nice, due dates for papers are just suggestions. I thought class was interesting and liked most of what we read. I did spend more time than I expected doing the reading and writing the papers for his class, however.But I would definitely recommend taking a class from him.
