Comment:

Professor Spellman is one of the funnest professors that I have ever had. She makes lectures more interesting by adding details from her experience in the law enforcement field. This class isn't hard but make sure to study for the exams which are normally very easy. There is one major research assignment due, but it is doable.

Comment:

Expect homework and a quiz every class. Now that might scare you off but it shouldn't because it does help you in the long run. She is very funny and moves through the material quickly. Don't expect coddling in this class she doesn't suffer fools she's firm but fair. If you are a quiet student this is a good class no participation really required.

Had her for CRJ 101 & 105 only gives homework in 101. research paper, quizzes, midterm, and final lowest quiz grade is dropped. Lectures are from the book. Show up, pay attention and, do the work you will get an A. extra credit is available, if you are interested go to a lecture more points if you write a 2 page paper about it

Her lectures were taught clearly, and she also has a lot of stories from her experience that she can relate into class to make things interesting. Take good notes and the tests are easy. She was such a nice professor, would definitely take again.

honestly don't even bother taking this professor for online, she says that you didnt hand in homework online meanwhile you did all the discussions and she says that you need to participate and even when you do your apparently not allowed to ask questions meanwhile she told us that we need to have communication with the other students.

She is an excellent professor! I took CRJ 101,107, and 105 with her. I hardly used the textbook, I learned everything at her lectures. Do the work, show up to class, and actually TRY and you will pass. If she taught any other CRJ classes I would take them with her.

omg, this professor is HYSTERICAL!! shes so smart and has awesome stories. she curses left and right which keeps the class awake. her tests are easy if you study exactly from her review sheets. such a fun class. definitely one of the best with so much experience and insight on future crj careers!!

TAKE HER you wont regret it. Her lectures are so interesting and keeps your attention. She gives homework that's 50% of the grade its very easy make sure you do that and the 2 short essays and you'll do fine! One of my favorite professors.

Professor Spellman-Frey was very enjoyable and it was a pleasure of having her as a professor. She has experience as a Sergeant in the NYPD and she incorporates this experience into her lectures. She does give homework but they are extremely easy. Study for tests and you will be fine. Also pretty attractive for an older woman. Deff recommend.

Professor Spellman is amazing Her classes are very interesting and I have taken her Policing and Evidence and Procedure Law classes Most of lectures are PowerPoint based and she posts them so you can print them. She has great stories from when she was in the NYPD. If your really into criminal justice I strongly suggest taking her class

love her class! she's so fun and energetic really knows her stuff and has alot of experience with law enforcement. tells you about her stories which are really fascinating. 4papers 2-3 pages 3 tests 1 take home, all easy. notes are online and posts a review sheet for the test online a week before. definitely study off the textbook and her notes.

I enjoyed professor spellman's class and i would take another class with her. She is pretty straight forward with her work. Nothing too crazy or hard if you pay attention and study your work. Basically do exactly what she says i don't see why you cant obtain an A in her class as i did. Thanks Professor =)

hes a great teacher this was my 4th time talking her as a teacher, all notes and study guide are on D2L so you can print them out. She makes class fun and shares her personal expereinces so we can understand. Theres 1 paper, 2 tests, 1 takes home test and the final. I would always recommend her.
