Stuck in the past. Doesn't have any ppts or prepared notes. Be prepared for lectures all class with no written notes. 3 exams and 1 paper is your whole grade. Make sure you go to the test review because she gives most of the questions, sort of. Go or you will fail, I promise. If you can, take a different class.

I sincerely respect her as one of the oldest professors in MCPHS but her lecture styles were outdated and all it matters if it's in the exam form was the last review session, which covers most of your exam question. Honestly only way to do well is to make an intense study guide of each chapter and just study it. Have to go to class bc she takes attendance but her lectures are not consistent and her exams are more from the book.

While I enjoyed our class discussions, they weren't much help at all. 90% of the grade is based on 3 exams that each cover 5-6 long chapters. She gives us an idea of what the exam will be like the class before but the exams are very detailed (and tricky!) so you have to read the book very carefully, b/c she doesn't cover much in class..

Comment:

Took Anthropology with her. It is a mandatory class, so the only advise I have for you is read, make flashcards, and take down everything that she says during lectures. Her exams contain absolutely every single little detail from the book. Know all the terms and examples. Good luck!

Terrible professor, very strict. Hard grader, talks and talks during class time and the subjects do not show up on exam. Makes us watch movies that do not relate to exams. Advice: Memorize the textbook.... every single page of it.... every word. I do not recomend her.

Not the best elective to take for PharmD students; if you hate reading long chapters, i suggest you avoid this class; her lectures barely help for tests and she has a habit of picking favorites; i just feel as though she should have already retired at this point; plus she never uses blackboard to post your grades since she's too paranoid to do so.

You must read the textbook to do well in this class. Test is based on the textbook not really the lectures. All the prof does is talk for 1 hr 30 min. Its tough to follow along. classes are not interactive at all. I really got nothing out of this class.

Although she will appear friendly, she isn't the kind of professor to goof off in front off. If you get a bad grade on a test, just take it and leave it. Going to her during office hours will do no help at all because she will accuse you of things you didn't intentionally do and will lower your self esteem. She pretty much has no empathy for people

Read the book, attend class, and study from the book or notes you took from the book and you will do fine. Dr. Ginsberg is passionate about Anthropology and she will take the time to explain and reexplain things for you. She does tease students in class if she doesn't like something youre doing, heads up.

Prof Ginsberg is very experienced and knowledgeable in her field. While it seemed boring to some I found it fascinating so your attitude is what matters. She was always willing to help guide you but she wasn't going to do the work for you. Reading the text, attending class for notes and viewing the movies was crucial for learning the material.

Dr. Ginsburg is the best. She really helped me understand the subject, and made it sooo interesting. She has a lot of experience in her field and has great stories about her experiences. I have no idea why she has gotten so many negative ratings.

The only reason i'm making this review is because all these other ratings are so far fetched! Ginsburg is a great professor. She knows everything about anthropology. Her exams are difficult. Treat her with respect and she'll treat you the same way. She formed an excellent bond with my class.

A student asked her why she put up a studyguide when she clearly stated at the beginning of the year that she doesnt do study guides, she assumed that the student was attacking her authority. Ginsburg got deffensive real quick and attacked the student back!

Before, I just thought that the class was boring but oncce I personally had an experience with her looking down on me, I hated her as a person. She accused me of lying, which I didnt. Terrible class, terrible professor. The reason I am saying this is because she talks down to her students. When you go to her office to ask her why she graded you a certain way, she has no backing, and immediatley assumes you are attacking her authority. Usually she is in a miserable mood, and often always takes it out on her students.
