Comment:

Great guy, but extremely disorganized and frustrating. He will do his best to help, but it not always the most helpful. Attendance was not mandatory but helped. If you do the work, it's an easy A. I would not choose to take him again but he is not the worst either.

Comment:

Dr. Gierhart seems to try a bit too hard to relate to the students. Kind of acts like were younger than we are. Good guy though. I only had the class twice a week so we had to get through the textbook quickly. Even with all the homework assigned, it was easy to pass because he grades super easy and Im not sure if he even read any of the papers.

Gierhart is a smart guy and he has a lot of interesting things to say. However he is only the most unorganized person I think I have ever met. This was the first year the class was offered so I understand it being a bit messy but he often forgot about assignments, randomly assigned so much work, or didn't give the test he talked about. V Irritating

Professor Gierhart was a really nice guy and as long as you did his work and showed up to class he would give you a good grade. His class really pushed me to want to pursue my major even further than initially.

Lots of homework he doesn't grade; then gives poor information on assignments that he tears apart when he does grade them. You will spend a lot of time on stress in this class but you will also get an A if you just show up. Very unorganized.

Terrible teacher! He has the organization of a 3 year old. Will assign all tough assignments for the last weeks of class. Genuinely cares but does not make up for how disorganized he is. Will also tear apart your lesson plans you turn in.

Pro. Gierhart is probably one of the worst teachers I've had at MSU. He does not provide a syllabus. He is EXTREMELY unorganized. All difficult assignments are pushed to the very last week of class. The grading is inconsistent. Also, you won't actually learn anything. While the class was a relatively easy class it wasn't without a lot of stress.

Terrible organization. Would be a brilliant teacher if it weren't for the fact that he assigns things and then says it's not due. The only thing he grades are lesson plans and he tears those to pieces with no positive remarks.

Comment:

Excellent teacher.Very helpful and gives you tons of real life tips for teaching math. His class made me change to a math major! He is extremely flexible and would rather you take an extra week to finish an assignment rather than turn in so-so work. I Highly recommend him! He's inspiring, seriously.
