A recommendation for the professor would be since the class is foreign languages is that she put all those who speak the same language to work together. That way everyone can participate and export the ideas they have in another language.

This professor is extremely disrespectful. I have not learned anything with her but she does not know what the word RESPECT for OTHERS means. And if you are not one of her favorite students, prepare to be attacked by her in every class ...

It's funny to see how the students ask the professor and she always answers with "I don't think so" to all the answers. So if you are wondering, if you should choose this professor, I already told you the answer. I also include that her '' help '' for the exams is none, realizing that all the students do poorly on the exams.

Her logistics is to answer some questions before class (without her having explained it) so that later she will give you a 3/10 on the HW. This teacher wants everyone to think like her, and if not 0/10. The exams are horrible, you won't even have time to scratch your head, for the little time she gives for the thousands of questions on the exam.

Do you want to get bad grades? do you want to not have a good semester? do you want to not learn anything about an interesting topic? Choose this professor. You will not learn anything from her but from your classmates. At first, we were almost 30 students now we are more than 10 less than 20. Horrible! Do not take her, there are better professors

Prepare to answer only in 2 sentences, 5 questions. Something that does not make sense, since, in theory, it is basically impossible. Also note that if you do not put all the information in 2 sentences, points will be deducted. The same goes for the # of words the professor says she wants. It's not possible.

A very important fact to keep in mind is that if he asks you to participate, keep in mind that he will interrupt you without you having finished speaking. In my opinion, this teacher should be more empathetic with her students and more while we are in a pandemic. Not all students have a place where there is no noise. Many students lost their homes.

Sweetest teacher ever, she cares so much about her students. This has been the only class that I was excited to go to, and I was really sad when the semester ended. She's very open-minded and is very helpful. She always does her best to make sure her students are doing their best. Class is a lot of work, but that's good if you truly want to learn

I took FRLN385 for my Spanish minor. If you take this class, be prepared to do A LOT of work! There is a printed daily assignment due every single class and since this a synthesis course the emphasis on discussion is HEAVY. Midterm and final were tough but she graded generously. Leeman is very nice and wants to help you understand the material.

you know those boring/dehumanizingly pointless/useless-for-a-career classes that you're required to take?linguistics is certainly one of them.leeman is an incredibly nice person tho and the class is pretty easy.it's all hw and exams.do your hw and go over the study guide the day before the exam and you'll get an A.unless you die of boredom first

For linguistics DO NOT take ANY professor but her. Its a tough topic but she makes it so easy to understand, and is SO helpful. Hw is A LOT of points, which helps your grade. Hands down, one of the most amazing professors I've ever had. I'm so surprised about some of the negative comments on here about her, trust me, the whole class LOVED her.

She is a very kind professor! Very understanding! I was very sick for 1.5 weeks during midterms and she gave me alternatives to make up for what I had missed with no grading penalty. I got an average grade in the class only because of low effort and poor attendance. I definitely recommend her class! Group discussion encouraged daily.

DO NOT TAKE HE!!! I agree with the comment that you have to think like her if you want to pass, she will not take into account your effort or sacrifice in the class all she cares is for the work done. She is not considerate very selfish professor. I was very dissapointed for taking this class.

A very self-centered and arrogant teacher. She is a control freak! Do want she wants you to do and repeat what she wants to hear and you will do just fine in her VERY "robotic" class. If you can avoid her, please do so. There are other professors who are much more kind than this one.

I took her for the new Spanish for Heritage Speakers and I must say, she really is excellent and open-minded. The class was very easy, but the point of it was to refine our Spanish, as well as discuss the language and the Hispanic community. I certainly recommend her (though she's going to Spain this spring so you may have to wait until next year).

Nice teacher who's very genuinely interested in her field. The class introduces basics about the perceptions of culture, advertisements, and various other related topics like gender and race. Pointless to those not interested in it, but there are only so many honors classes to choose from. About three 2-pg papers, a 3-5pg final paper, and a final.
