Dr. Toub is such a fun and passionate professor. He assigns a lot of reading, but it's so worth it! I can tell he truly cares about his students, and he just makes going to class enjoyable.

Toub is a seriously amazing person. He never fails to listen to a persons opinions, and appreciates a good laugh. I have taken two classes with him already and I have two more that I am signed up for in the fall. I am an Art History major who knows what an average art history course is like, and this man is a cut above the rest in relaying info.

His seminar class is relatively layed back, you just have to read a lot of readings and do a paper every week. He hardly ever gives out A's on assignments, so if you are a straight A student, you wont be after this. But the entire class is a big discussion and it can be fun with the right people. Just make sure you know your stuff.

Super nice guy who was always in a good mood and laughed all the time. He's smart and knows what he's talking about. Lectures are kind of long and boring but it's art history so he can't do much about that... He gives study guides before every exam which is basically the test so study them EXTENSIVELY because they're very in depth. Cool class.

Toub is constantly laughing. He is incredibly smart and has very interesting discussions. He is constantly asking rhetorical questions which allows the students to ponder for hours and truly learn the concepts. If you love modern art history, TAKE HIM! Also, his assignments are clear as day, so there is never any confusion.

This man is horrible with deadlines and precise instructions. Nothing is ever good enough, and he lacks the ability to understand simple human motives. He was the instructor in my foundations seminar class, and it made me change my major. Do not take him.

I'm an art major but never really liked the history aspect. Dr Toub made this class interesting and I learned more than I thought I would. exams are difficult and take more studying than I am used to. As for as art history classes go, his was pretty good.

modern art. felt as if he dumbs down the lectures for the students, as if art history is unaccessible to most. easy enough class. but i thought this was university. he also is sitting in as asst dean, so it seems doesn't have much time for extracurricular advising..... just my two cents.

Dr. Toub really helped me this session. Although I am an art minor, I was really dreading art history (I usually do poorly in history courses). I was surprised, however, how interesting Dr. Toub made the material and how much easier it was for me to learn. Tests are essay-style with slide identifications at the beginning: know name/date/periods

a nice man, always seems to tie topics together well. this man knows his stuff and yes he has a funny laugh too. the art majors seemed to have quite an advantage over the rest of the non-art majors...but despite this slight bias he is fair. not a harsh grader, but expects you to know what he asks you to know! tests are essay-ish. i learned a ton.

Pretty interesting class... tests can be difficult if you do not study (he gives you a study guide which tells what will be on the test) Dr Toub is very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable about the material. I definitely recommend him!

Don't take this class unless you like to draw, and stare at the same powerpoint image for extended periods of time. It reminded me more of a philosophy class than a history class. :/

Probably the worst Art Hist. prof I've had. Failed me over two absences that I had because I was at a FUNERAL. Spends the entire class period going over ONE slide and then puts 60 to 70 slides on the test. TAKE WALDROUP.

Although you have to try hard to constantly pay attention during his lectures, they are rather interesting. The first half of the class is usually just him talking and the second half looking at slides. Take good notes, he usually repeats and stresses what you need to remember. He gives out study guides which tell you exactly what you need to know.
