Comment:

Instructor is nice but disorganized, chaotic. The course is poorly designed. The instructor plays catch-up a lot. She often publishes assignments after they are due. The course has homework and exams but those may not be listed in the course syllabus. They'll pop up. Labs are graded well with a rubric. I do not recommend this instructor.

Comment:

She seems nice at first but quickly turns horrible. She is extremely unorganized and does not always have things ready to go. Regularly had questions on tests that she does not cover. Very little in class homework which will hurt your grade and online homework she doesn't cover in class. Be ready to teach yourself Chem.1 if you take her class.

Comment:

Dr Karr may be the worst teacher I've ever met. At first she seems helpful and caring, but after the first few weeks you are quick to learn that she is far from it. She rarely gives assignments and your grade weighs heavily on standardized tests that have no relevance to material covered in class. I would steer clear of her at all costs!

Comment:

Nice person but unorganized, forgetful, and confused. Multiple times she did problems wrong on the board. Has students answer majority of prob for her. Assigned online homework over concepts never mentioned. Worksheets distributed barely had relevance to test. Refuses to give study guides, instead makes you reference a broad objective list online.

Kim Karr was not a very good teacher. She seemed confused, unorganized, and didn't always prepare ahead of time. I would not take a class from if you have the choice.

Dr. Karr is a very kind person, but I have learned almost nothing from her. Every week there is a homework due that is almost a completely new concept and there is no relevant teaching for these home works. Once a person gets into class and hears the information in class its either redundant or barely explained and leaves the class in a fog.

Comment:

Great teacher with a lot of knowledge. I learned MUCH more than during Chem1 at WSU. I highly recommend her. She teaches labs too (twice a week) which is a big plus compared to poorly english-speaking TAs at WSU. Textbook they use is pretty much straightforward. Make sure you study. I recommend taking Chem at Butler - you will learn if you want!

Great and wodnerful teacher. Loves questions and very open to helping students before or after class. HW is a must to understanding her class! Tests are very fair and easy if you do the HW.

I did not learn much from her. I had to constantly teach myself. She seems to be confused on the subject, always made mistakes. If you want to learn chemistry, take it with somebody else. Not sure if you have a lot of choices at butler.

Very knowledgable teacher. Enjoyed her lectures. Good with helping you understand the subject very well if its been a few years since last taken chem. She is very picky on the lab write-up which was a major PIA.

Online chemistry was hard, but it wasn't because of Dr. Karr. It's just a tough subject in the first place, much less take it online where you don't have someone giving lectures 3 days a week. Dr. Karr was GREAT!

Online Intro to Chemistry: Instructor very poor in grading assignments in a timely manner, assignments unclear, material not provided in time, overall the class was horrible. I will never take another class at Butler because of this teacher!
