Great class, super interesting lectures. I learned so much from this class. Easy A!!! Just take good notes as he doesn't upload anything on BB. He exams are all short answer 5-6 questions and few term definitions. He gives very good sample questions so its actually easy to study and prepare for exam. One self awareness paper which is super easy!

Number one thing you need to know is this professor is very old school. If you're not good at taking notes and following lectures through listening then don't take his classes! Gives out 3 tests non cumulative and one paper. All questions are short answer or paragraph form. Curves tests which helps somewhat but the key is to STUDY STUDY STUDY.

This professor should teach every psych class at this campus. He is a great lecturer, actually keeps you interested unlike most here in the psych department. He engages you, which makes tests easy because you remember the material since it was so interesting. He mentioned it is his last year teaching here through 2018 so take him while you can!

He is one of those professors that is not a big fan of technology so don't expect to get powerpoint lectures. All his lectures are in class but he does let you record lectures. No homework but you do need to study to pass the exams. All exams are short answer, no multiple choice.

Take all the notes you can, and make sure you really study and understand the concepts. You can't fake it through the midterms or final. The lectures were really interesting nut you have to pay attention

Textbook is only required if you feel you need further explanation on terms. If you skip class you will be lost for the midterm and final. He doesn't like multiple choice exams so be ready to write. Exams are short answers and he provides a study guide/review before each exam.

Patch is an amazing lecturer -- and that's the only source of information you get, all verbatim. If you are a good note-taker, then you should be fine. If not, then I HIGHLY suggest you either type everything, like a narrative, or audio record. 3 exams - 1st is ok, 2nd is worse, 3rd/Final is best 1 paper - requires legit thought

Patch is great, for his classes while it is essential to come to class, that is really all you need to succeed. While Dr. Patch assigns reading, the bulk, if not all of the test material comes from his lectures, so pay close attention, record, or take notes. Grade is based on 2-3 tests (short answer) and maybe a paper, something to consider

He's all verbal, hardly uses the book and when you do read it, sometimes they don't match up. Three test and a midterm, all are one paragraphs to six questions. Bring recorder the book is really expensive go to the library or buy. But everything he talks about will be on the test rather than what's in the book but he can be very confusing.

Dr. Patch is marvelous! He has a different approach to learning which is full on lecture and believes that you know the subject if you can write about it, and I totally agree. No baby MC tests here! He gives general thought questions for review, and answers your questions. He is quite clear but you can record him on your phone if you want.

I enjoy his lectures because I enjoy the material. He expects his words verbatim on exams, but expresses that you should put it in your own words. Often doesn't define terms directly, rather states questions regarding what the term's about. Phrases exam questions that are nothing like what we covered in the review. He's okay.

It seemed like he could either be tough with you or soft. I would recommend to stick with the prof research idea as trying to pass a research idea by him is very difficult and will require you to explain the theory to him. Definitely get on his good side, he seems overwhelmed and overworked. He required us to run our own experiment unlike other pro

Classes with Dr. Patch are GREAT preparation for grad school. If you intend to apply, don't expect multiple choice tests! His short answer tests actually test your comprehension and ability to explain concepts -- unlike rote memorization or pick-a-letter. RECORD the lectures, take notes, make flashcards, and find a small study group! It'll pay off.

Great lecturer. He provides good examples and makes sure everyone understands everything. He only uses the board during lectures and his two exams are essay only. Come to class, take notes, study, and you will do fine.

DO NOT buy the book. I didn't,&easily got an A. All exams r essay questions & u MUST attend class regularly to do well. The best idea is to record his lectures and copy dwn everything he writes on the board. I think those who don't do well, think too hard when answering test questions. Keep it simple&only answer with exactly what he says in class.

A different type of teacher. I think he's a good story teller but not organized. When a missed sentence needs to be typed again, he'll say it again but differently, almost realizing he liked it better the first way. Just not clear. Taking good notes means you must be a good note taker to begin with. Very Dislike this class.

Patch is old school&posts nothing on blackboard or powerpoints. He feels you should work for your grade. Must be present to every session tests are based 100% from lecture.Don't buy text. You must use his words on tests since they are essay only. There is one paper due at the end.Grades are curved & you can talk to patch if you need help.I got a B+.

This is one of the most difficult professors because he uses no other sources besides his lectures. His test are the worst as well. It is all handwritten, and you must answer them using his words. He makes the most simplest sentences difficult to understand. The good part is that he grades on a huge curve. Good luck!

Old school. lectures by voice&chalk board. it's easier to take hand-written notes instead of using a laptop for his lecture-style. record lectures if you can. go to class, take good notes, ask Qs for clarification if you must. if you can do that, don't buy the book. only 2 exams, noncomprehensive SA Qs. I got a solid A doing this. he's interesting.
