Comment:

Professor Samuels was great! His class was seriously so enjoyable, and I understand the government a lot better now than before. A few important things: take notes !! by taking notes and paying attention it is an easy A. Also, in each class he explains units from the textbook, so I feel like you may not need one, but it is online if you do.

Comment:

No doubt, he is a great professor but there is not enough work to grade you on. There are only three grades: midterm, research paper and final. You really have to make sure you do not mess up on one. All he does is lectures. His exams are all open ended responses that you have to write out and shockingly he gave my class all the questions to study.

He is an institution within the institution, cares for his students and will always answer any questions. Straight forward: do the readings, go to class, take notes and ask questions. Two tests and a project. Annoyed to see some bad ratings here, I guess from those that don't want to work for their grade. I love Dr. Samuels!

APPEARS TO BE NICE HOWEVER WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR GRADE YOU WILL BE SHOCKED. WHAT HE ADVISE YOU TO STUDY WILL NOT BE ON THE TEST. THIS IS HIS WAY OF GETTING YOU TO READ THE ENTIRE BOOK. VERY BORING STANDS IN FRONT OF THE CLASS FOR 1.5 HOUR TALKING. VERY HARD TO PASS CLASS ONLY 3 GRADES, NO EXTRA CREDIT OR MAKE UP TEST. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR.

i took this class thinking that this class was going to be easy but this professor grades so strictly and even if you put down whatever you know he fails you, he doesnt at least give you credit , i still don't understand how he grades,so many students in my class complained on how he grades.

This guy is an awesome teacher. there was a midterm and a final- on his exams he says after the question just write everything you know, hes more interested in what youve learned then what you havent learned. He is a very nice man, and its easy to listen to him teach. Just take good notes and study them and youll get an A

He is one of the best professors ever! If I had a choice, I would ask him to teach all the poli sci classes. I highly recommend him. I have never done any recommendations for any professor. He is the first one and he is simply GREAT! TAKE HIM, you wont regret it. I assure you!!

He's not as easy as you think! It's alot of work. The material is easy to learn however its just a midterm and a final. He totally said there would be a project, but there wasn't. So all relies on 2 exams. The questions are broad, and you really have to know your stuff. It can be an easy A, but you could jeopardize your chance at an A Careful!

easily one of the best teachers I have come across; extremely competent in his field. read the book for a basic feel for the class--but 90% of what will help you the most are your lecture notes. I recommend you talk to him after class; a bit intimidating, but he really cares for you and can help out a lot, he was the former provost of ru after all

One of the greatest professors at Rutgers - Newark. He deserves every dime he earns, as the student newspaper reported he is the highest paid professor/faculty member on campus. Study your rear off for the exams, and do joint exercises for your hands, as they are essay exams! Amazing professor, hands down.
