He's a really nice guy. Test questions are very straightforward. If you attend class, you should do really well. There's no textbook. The only homework assignment is a book report. He's very helpful, but kind of hard to reach by email, so ask questions during or after class.

He is very arrogant and in your face about his own beliefs. His tests are half what he talked about in class and then half of nothing he ever mentioned anything about that you must read in the book yourself. You need to do 2 hours of reading from the book to answer up to 15 questions. He is very straight forward in his teaching style.

I really like Billingham. He is hilarious, for one, doesn't care much what others think about him and is seriously passionate about Human Development/Family Studies. You won't like him if you're a lazy student because he is pretty tough. But he makes lecture material accessible and easy to understand. He;'s quite the storyteller too!

I hear people complain about his class, but let's be honest -- this is how college classes are supposed to be taught. Hardly a difficult class if you read the book. Also, he's a very entertaining lecturer.

I loved this teacher and his enthusiasm. He is an example of learn the way your professor teaches though. You don't need the book, just the online portion if you can. He really wants everyone to do well

Take Effects of Divorce on Children. A very good topic. It is easy and interesting. Billlingham knows his stuff. Yes he is scatterbrained and can get off topic but the content of this class is very good. Don't base your view of him off of your F150 experience. He teaches his other classes very differently and they are easier.

He is the worst professor I have ever had. Most of the exams and all lectures aren't based on factual information, but on his opinions which are most of the time completely ignorant and offensive. Only 25 questions on each exam are based on the book, which are around 5 chapters per exam, and the questions are based on minute details from the book

Professor Billingham is an ok guy but most of the stuff he taught had nothing to do with the book. He would assign chapters and chapters to read and on the exams he would ask about the minor details that you wouldn't even think would be on an exam. He LOVES to express his opinion no matter how ignorant it is. He can be very offensive.

Professor Billingham seems nice enough and can be funny but often comes off as ignorant and contradicts the textbook. There are five multiple choice tests. The lowest score is dropped. Attendance is not mandatory but is necessary for the tests. Utilizing chapter summaries and online study tools should guarantee at least a B+ and maybe even an A-.

Professor Billingham is a really nice guy but he's very detail oriented and sort of dumb. You have to do everything his way or you will definitely be punished with a poor grade. If you need to, take the final because he gives you a ton of free points!

This professor is a rude, sarcastic, and selfish man that does not care about the well-being of his students. I would reach out to him for help throughout the semester and he would never make an effort to assist me in any way. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! Awful person and an even worse teacher.

He is very funny and makes the lectures very interesting, yet they do not correlate with the HUGE amount of book material. You have to teach yourself aprox. 150-200 pages for each exam. I actually like the content of this class, but the amount of self-teaching gets extremely overwhelming.

So many people complain about Billingham for some reason, but in my opinion, this class is taught the way every class should be. Go to class, and study using the online study guide at the end of each chapter (numerous times). I did this without ever opening the book and made an easy B. Also VERY entertaining lectures.

Terrible professor. You have to teach yourself the entire book while he rambles on about whatever he feels like talking about during lectures. Tests are half lecture material half book material. Make tests very difficult by asking questions about small details from reading. I strongly encourage you to avoid this professor.

Don't listen to any of the poor reviews. I think he's one of the best teachers ive ever had. The tests are pretty self explanatory, his lectures are super fascinating and they directly apply to the tests. The class is easy, you learn a ton, and it gives you a lot of knowledge that's just generally helpful for life.

I was trying to be open towards his class, but Billingham is THE WORSE professor I have ever had. To go on, his lectures get pretty boring and his comments are very VERY rude. If you have any morals at all, do not take this class, you will be severely offended by some of his remarks. In terms of materials he covers, he really doesn't cover any.
