Weisbrot is ADORABLE. His lectures are interesting and witty, making it very easy to pay attention. Make sure you take notes in his class!! My favorite part of his class was the days where we had discussions, as he always guided students towards efficient discussions. Sometimes, he can word questions in a strange way, but that is my only complaint.

I took Professor Weisbrot first semester freshman year. His approach at first intimidated me - he loves his subject and is super smart. But as I learned to enjoy his exuberance, I came to regard him as one of the best professors I've had including since then. You have to do the readings, but if you do he loves you, and you love the lecture.

He is extremely intelligent and loves history. He will grade your papers and test brutally. Also, the assignments are very confusing and must be read with a grain of salt.

I took Professor Weisbrot's seminar in the 1960s, and it was one of my top 3 classes that I ever took at Colby. I prepared for his seminar each week as if I were preparing to defend a thesis! He really drove us to aspire to do well. His comments on papers were very helpful, especially coming from the esteemed best writer on campus.

Prof Weisbrot is a fantastic lecturer and has lots of great stories to keep things interesting. He's a really nice guy and runs great discussions. He's also pretty funny. HI132 wasn't too difficult: 1 paper, 1 midterm, 1 final, and weekly readings. I highly recommend him!

I've taken two classes with Prof Weisbrot and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. Thanks to him, I'm going to be a history major. He was always very engaging and helpful. He expects you to have done the reading and come to class prepared. He's funny and cute and so nice. I love him. I'm going to take as many classes with him as possible!

I took African American History and the survey course (132). He is super engaging. He comes across as difficult to talk to because he's so brilliant, but go out of your way to get to his office hours or have lunch with him. He's a great resource and human being.

Lectures aren't mandatory, but a lot of material is covered in them. In the class before the midterm and final, he goes over what he is looking for on the test, usually gives pretty big hints as to what the essays will be. Great professor all around.

Weisbrot knows his stuff. Took his post-civil war intro class...1 paper, 1 midterm, 1 final. It's not mandatory to go to class but he covers A LOT in one lecture...make sure you get the notes. Studied a lot for the exams. He grades papers really hard... not only on concepts but also grammar. He's a funny guy and he's always willing to help.

Weisbrot is the man, but he's awkward. You'll see him running into miller, nervously, completely disheveled. He was drinking a juice box during a lecture once, and started getting excited, then squeezed juice all over himself. He knows a lot more than the material, and he loves it. Read his book on the cold war before you write a paper on it.

Weisbrot knows his stuff and although there is a ton of reading (and you have to do it) I have never been more engaged or learned more in class. Absolutely amazing in the Kennedy and Johnson class and the Vietnam class.
