Comment:
Very knowledgeable about theory but does little to prepare you for econ courses outside his own. Extremely particular about your writing and wants it done a certain way. Brings his political views into the class often. Learned a lot about micro but felt seriously unprepared for a major in Econ. Very self-satisfied and quite spacey at times.

Comment:
Absolutely pointless class where I wasted an entire semester and didn't learn a thing. His Micro 1 class used the same exact textbook as my Macro 1 class and 90% of the material covered and homeworks and quizzes given were identical. When I transferred I realized how unprepared I was for standard level economics courses. This class is a disgrace.

Attendance is must, and yes the quizzes are easy but not the midterm. I end up dropping the class so I can't say about the final but I can only imagine. The textbook itself is not help and his lectures are pretty confusing. I am not saying he is a bad prof. his class wasn't for me, you do need however put a lot of time and effort.

Comment:
His Quizes where easier than his midterm and finals . He like to confuse students with non-sense questions .You spend half the time on his tests counting words if he says 20words or less it better be 20 words. His test review is not helpful at all.He does not answer questions clearly leaving you more confused. Not a good professor.

He's a decent professor: clear, concise, no-nonsense. Unfortunately, his odd laissez-faire/libertarian capitalistic biases can get very annoying (he once argued in favor of price-gouging for instance!). Well, at least it offers an alternative to all the lefty-biased profs. in Humanities and Social Sciences.

He may be a challenging teacher, but if you can handle it, he is one of the interesting professors at purchase. plus, if you're a liberal who is fed up with democrats and republicans, he offers a view wich is very unique at purchase college (libertarianism/Austrian economy) which appeals to most peoples' sense of morality, while being technically and theoretically sound. He's currently visiting the LSE (London School of Economics) and won't be back till next year, but if you're here next year take his class
