Dr. Gardner is devoted to his studies and his students. This prof. is worth taking an extra class for an elective! We don't deserve him.

I thought parasites were disgusting, but I took this class and will never regret it! Spring 2020 class, 9 students, class in his office, super flexible deadlines. He wants his students to have fun, the lecture was super laid back. Recommend this class to any BIOS students who need an upper-level class. His invertebrate class has the same layout!

My favorite teacher ever. He made Parasitology so fun to learn and is unbelievably enthusiastic! He is full of knowledge and eager to share it. He let us do take home test and projects instead of normal test. Everyone should take his class.

Field Parasitology is where Dr Gardner shines in. His Intro to Zoology (BIOS 112) may be where he veers off course at but when it comes to parasites, he's entirely in the zone! In this class he treats you as one of his research assistants and you are expected to put the work into the necropsies and identification of the parasites the class finds.

Doesn't follow textbook at all. His lecture consists only of parasitology. And wasn't a zoology class at all really. Didn't stick with the lab at all, my lab was 4 sections ahead. Tests are all minor details of scientific names and stuff like that. They are all multiple choice or true/false, but still tough class with this teacher. He is a nice guy

He was funny and very interesting to listen to. None of the information came from the book and all of it was from the lecture. So, in a way lecture was mandatory. I am TERRIBLE at multiple choice, but his weren't too bad and he gave us lots of extra credit opportunities. Good guy. I liked the class, but I also think parasitology is interesting.

Talked and talked about parasites (because he is a parasitologist and not a zoologist). Put me to sleep every day of class. When tests came there were questions over the most obscure things--if you read the book it wouldn't have helped. Nice guy, but the class was subpar.

Comment:
Zoology class that was tailored to only talk about stupid parasites. His tests are random and require you to recall tiny details species names. Tons of memorization.
