Good teacher, Great critique and information he provides for you. He responds to emails very fast and give valuable responses in emails. However, you have to put work into this class. Work load is very manageable but expects good work.

Scott is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had! I had him online, and from what I've heard, he's a lot tougher in person. But although he expects a lot, it will honestly make you a better artists. But you need to be able to take criticism, because he won't be easy, but if you've learned how to take criticism well, then you should be fine.

Scott is an amazing dude! I have taken both drawing and printmaking with him now, and Im not sure where Id be in terms of my art without him! He always wants you to think / work outside of your comfort zone, which pays off with extraordinary results. Every project has inspired me! With an open mind and a passion for learning, you will thrive!

Professor Ludwig is one of the best professors I have taken in the art department. He is tough and his class requires a lot of work but as long as you show effort, then you will be fine. I had never taken a printmaking class prior to his, and if this wasn't my last semester of classes I would for sure take him again!

Scott is a really great dude. I had him for 1st summer session and it was actually really fun. I've never taken printmaking, but he's very encouraging and helpful. He can be really funny and laid back as long as the class is doing their part.

Scott is a good teacher and a funny guy, but he is tough. He expects a lot in a short amount of time and is NOT clear about what he wants. One day he'll say a lesson plan for next class then post on ASUlearn that there is no class next session, then send an email saying "be there or be square". Good guy, but quite frankly he's just not worth it.

If this dude cared as much about teaching as he does his hair he'd be great. Sits in class flipping his hair out of his face, trying to look cool, sips coffee, and that's about it. Zero feedback. One week he'll tell you how he hates artists who try to make money with their work, the next week he brags about having a show and selling his work.

Gained nothing from his Fantasy Drawing class. This class was just another drawing class, no fantasy and myth involved. Any ideas you want to try, Scott will tell you he has all ready done it and that he did it better than you will. Gives no feedback in class and little during critiques. Avoid at all costs.

I took him for foundations 1 and you definitely had to work for the grade. He grades really really tough and expects everyone to be Picasso's. He made me cry once.

Really great teacher! You can tell Scott loves what he does. This was probably one of the hardest classes I've ever taken, but I enjoyed every second of it. I learned so much from Scott and now have him to thank for my amazing realism drawings!

i had scott for 'advanced drawing: myth & fantasy', and i was excited because i'm very interested in that topic but i think i knew more about it than he did (i'm not an expert or anything but the stuff he brought up was so basic), and honestly i didn't get much from his critiques, so i was pretty bored.

Could not have asked for a better foundations drawing professor. He is super tough, but YOU WILL LEARN in his class. I came in not knowing how to draw, but I have so much confidence in my ability now. He is really helpful and approachable, and the projects are interesting. Work hard, and you will enjoy him.

Best professor I had while attending ASU. He is tough at times, but you learn so much from him. If you are not interested in fine art, do not take him. However, if you have a passion for art on some level, he is a very inspirational instructor and fantastic person.

If you make drawing a desire his class isn't really too hard. you just have to draw around 4 to 5 hours a day at least so if you're taking this class just find a way to make your artwork therapeutic. he's very good about listening to your ideas and giving you creative advice to help produce YOUR ideas and not his. I found him very approachable

Scott was the best teacher I've ever had. He pushed me to be the best I can be. If you want to slack in class or not put a lot of time into your work don't have him as your teacher. I didn't think I could draw at all and he helped me get so much better. Now I want concentrate in drawing and become a college professor. He's awesome! :D

A fantastic teacher who pushes you to take risks and work beyond your normal artistic capacity. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE CLOSE-MINDED. Expect to pull several all-nighters during the semester to get Scott's work done. He expects a lot of all of his students and assigns work without breaks in between. Prepare to be challenged!!!
