A lot of people did not like her, but they just did not want to do the work. 50% of the class is non exams, so it you will do well. Easy to pass hard to get an A. A lot of confusing content, but she explains it well. Felt lucky to have her as my teacher. Exam questions are pulled directly from her slides, and her slide notes.

Probably one of the worst professors I've had. I had her through zoom and she did not care whether she had good or bad connection or if her students could ever hear her. She was constantly rude when people asked questions and straight up said in a study session she wrote us a bad exam because she was in a bad mood. Horrible professor, doesn't care

Professor Furman is great. Many dislike her course due to the difficult exams, but she curves them so it's not hard to get an A or B. Very intelligent and her sarcasm makes the class more enjoyable.

I really liked Dr. Furman. She was very understanding. The lectures were easy to follow along, and matches mostly what's on the exams. She tells you what you should read, skim, or skip in the book, and goes over what type of questions she asks on the exams.

Worst professor I have ever had to date. She is absolutely atrocious. This is a LEVEL ONE CLASS. There was no need for the ridiculous grading and tests she gave. If you want a true level one class experience, do not take this class with this professor. Unbelievable.

Do NOT look at the old reviews for Dr. Furman. Earth 105 has changed. No exams. One class she gives a presentation, next you do a work sheet. About six easy 1 page papers (1 hour). I'm not a great writer but still did well. A final project. Interesting class but not overwhelming on an engineering schedule and she gets that. A Hidden Gem Prof

Tanya is super fair! Many do not like her because she gives challenging exams, but the class average is curved, so it is not hard to get an A/B. She wants you to get something out of the class and not give pointless MC exams.

Great teacher, great person. I loved her class. She is a tough grader, but there is a curve. I would take her again.

This class is pretty easy..it is full of work but as you know you make the class what you want it to be...as for Tanya she is a very nice lady and is very willing to help out where you don't understand so I kind of recommend taking this class as long as your willin to work for your grade.

AAAS/Earth 105 is a terrible class. There are bunch of online activities that take forever and don't usually pertain to what you're learning in class. You have to read a lot of articles too and answer study questions which you usually can't find in the articles. There are three tests that aren't too hard, but difficult to study for.

Most painful class ever. It is full of busy work and takes no effort, the busy work also is painfully boring. Don't take this class unless you are ready for a class on the level of 8th grade classes. You realllllllly shouldn't take this class unless you don't wanna learn anything except a few tediously worthless facts.

this class is annoying. im thinking of dropping it. it's changed a lot since what the other students were commenting. we have lots of questions that we need to answer for each activity, and all the answers take a lot of time to write and think about. there's a lot of busy work - not worth it

I did not like the class at all--there were no tests, but some of the projects were rediculous. And sadly, I really didn't learn a whole lot. She is a good teacher though. She's a little bit nutty, but she'll help you out a lot if you just talk to her. She usually responds to e-mails within 5 minutes.

Tanya is the greatest. She is always willing to help, and as long as you pay attention and give it a good try, you will do just fine in any of her classes.

Really willing to give help if you ask her. No tests but a group project at the end which wasn't too bad. But you have to come to class everyday b/c there are alot of in class activities (which are very easy).

Dr. Furman is excellent! She doesn't make her assignments hard, and she is quite amusing. She is the perfect First-Year Seminar professor. She really helped me to adjust to Penn State and for that I am grateful. Thank you, Dr. Furman.

Very easy class. Primary emphasis was on a group project that we were given 6 weeks to work on and took about an hour to actually do. Also, we had to write "journal entries" based on assigned readings from the course pack. This class couldn't
