Professor is knowledgeable & intelligent. Grade is based on 1 paper & take home final. Other professor (Miceli) for this class has you writing a lot of papers !! Rumor has it that after Fall'07, Mohan won't be teaching anymore so take him then if you want him. I got an A- so I'm taking him again. How many other professors give a take home exam ??

A very nice 85 year old man. explains material clearly, very lenient. I took him during summer and he gave a take home exam. Jokes around making this kind of boring class more fun. Highly recommend him.

This guy is very good in explaining things that are very incomprehensible in the book. And textbook itself is lousy in his own words. Beside all the good qualities he has, he is also very lenient as he gave us take home final considering the intensity of the course and short span of summer session. And owing to all these fortunate things i got A-

This class is NOT easy if you don't have prior knowledge of Eastern Religions. You have to understand the religion from a "philosophical" stand point and that is NOT easy. The professor has an accent and sometimes it's hard to understand what he is saying. He's 85! He tries hard to explain the material but if you don't get it, you're in trouble!

Many people say they love this professor, but I can't see why. He is arrogant and makes fun of you when you give him the wrong answer. His class is boring and puts you to sleep. He is always late for class and keeps you after class every week. You can hardly understand what he is saying and his final exam is based on your notes.

Prof. Mohan takes great pride in telling his class his age -- He's got to be around 84 now. Don't let that discourage you -- he's sharp as a tack and very knowledgable. The course is somewhat dull, but he knows what he's talking about and he's very fair. As always, show up and do the work and you will do well.

His method of teaching is slow and clear speak but he does not make it clear how to take his tests and do well, the information he teaches is very theoretical so it is hard to answer even his take home exam. He gives two tests and a final all very hard and most of the course is budhism not overall eastern, he goes a little to chinese philosiphy.

He's a great professor. The material is quite abstract and different but he explains it the best he can. He even cracks a joke here or there. No homework, just readings that may be a little dry. Open book midterm and take home final. Very understanding and gave extra time for the take home final. Knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

You must take great notes, get noticed challenge him too so he knows who you are.Take home midterm, 4 essay final great pro best in ACE also teaches Eastern religion for 2 LASAR credits for summer1. Reading is very very dry so take the notes and ask questions, not an easy A but an be achieved Knowledge professor! I've taken 3 times

Mohan is one of the best. The class I take is 3 hours, and it doesn't seem like it. He challenges the class to come up with their own observation, and you learn a lot from him. He truly makes a topic I really had no interest in interesting. Like everyone else has said, make sure he knows who you are, and you'll do great.

Despite his age, he is an excellent professor with a great deal to offer. Very knowledgeable in his subject. Both Philosophy 101 and especially Intro to Eastern Religions were immensely enjoyable classes. If you are interested in the subject, you will learn a lot.
