By far the best prof I have had! He makes math so sensible, logical and interesting. Gives clear and effective examples in class and is always willing to give up time out of class or office hours for one-on-one help. A really nice prof.

Gumel is the man. Incredibly clear, engaging, hilarious and really cares about the students. Exams are fair but tough. He always has time to discuss the course, and related courses. Overall, he is one of the very best profs I have had so far. I recommend his courses.

Amazing Prof. I am using many of the concepts he taught, particularly Newton's method for a system of nonlinear equations and spline interpolation, in my Engineering job. I still contact him when I need further help! He is a really nice guy.

Would recommend sitting closer to the prof as accent is sometimes unclear, but knows what he's teaching and talking about in class. Would sometimes cause confusion by trying to give multiple ways to do a question. Funny and clear. Save money by buying Grantsbook instead of text - also very helpful in learning easier methods of answering questions!
