Comment:

Houmam wasn't the reason that I despised chem 1040, he really made the experience less excruciating. Explained lectures and gave examples which you could easily find on the exam or midterm. Absolutely do not fall behind in the first weeks of school or the midterm will be a rude awakening. Use all of the resources he provided and you will be golden

Houmam was so great. He has an accent but it was not hard to understand at all. He is super funny and honestly one of the happiest guys out there. He tells you "very, very important" things in the lectures so it is a good idea to go. He is really great about trying to make his office hours work for everyone.

Chemistry isn't my forté, but if you need him to answer a question, he will. I found him approachable, friendly, and caring to any student that came to him (both in class and out of class). His lectures can be kind of heavy, lots of info packed into them, but the speed isn't overwhelming (most of the time).

Aziz is the best first year chem prof out there (better than Joe pro). His accent is hilarious and he's the happiest man alive. he taught me that chemistry is "very, very important"

There are 2 polar opposite reviews on him. Some people really like his lecture style and other people have difficulty understanding him. For me, it was the latter. I couldn't comprehend what he was saying 80% of the time. He has an accent and speaks softly at the same time. His notes were confusing to understand even though I previewed the material

I absolutely hated this class and I could not handle this prof. He spent almost the whole class going through one page that was grade 12 review for the majority of students and went way to quickly through the new stuff. Hated it and drop it and get in a new section while you still can

Absolutely horrible prof. He was impossible to understand, did not clarify the content of the course and was very snarky whenever students would ask questions (almost as if he would get defensive). If you can, i would STRONGLY recommend switching your professor. This man made me HATE chemistry and DREAD going to class. Save yourselves..

First year chem. Some people found his notes to be too broad but if you attend the lectures... I also liked the fact that he asked questions (that weren't rhetorical). The only teacher I actually had a rapport with.

Ok. I was in his structure and bonding class and it was the WORST. Maybe the content of the course was extremely hard. Or maybe he's bad at teaching. I dunno. His exams and quizes are harder than the examples we would do in class. Even, It wouldn't be on your notes! He makes it sounds like we are so stupid to not know these materials. Just WOW.

I'd be lying if I said I found organic chemistry enthralling, but Aziz is very good at making a difficult subject pretty easy to understand. He's definitely not out to get you on his tests, which are quite fair...but it's still organic chemistry, so expect to work. Excellent prof.
