He took attendance every day but gave everyone full attendance credit even though I skipped a few times. VERY BORING lectures but nevertheless an easy class. Open note tests and VERY EXPLICIT INSTRUCTIONS on every assignment make it hard to fail. Fair warning, he WAY over-explains everything but is a good guy.

The work for this class is very easy, but you have to come to class to do well on exams. Frazier lectures heavily, asks VERY specific questions, and gets frustrated with students easily. He's not very approachable, and he DOES NOT allow food or computers in the classroom. The movies aren't bad, but the class is.

The first year seminar class is horror themed, so you will read a horror story out of the "text book" about once a week. The tests are open note, and you will also have 4 short essays (600-800 word each) as well as a research project, he also gives great feedback on the essays. The first half of the semester is boring, but the second half is great.

Professor Frazier has a great love for film, especially Horror. If you love horror film, novels, etc. you will especially enjoy this class. There was a reading of a short story every week, but they were all enjoyable. Very lecture heavy, go to class, the tests/quizzes are open note.

Recommend this to anyone who enjoys and is interested in film. You watch one a week, and most of them are very good. Frazier is a decent professor, and his tests are open note which is awesome, but make sure to take good notes-they aren't online. 2 short papers and no outside work. Reading is really just suggested, but I found it interesting.

The class was taken for my freshman seminar and he was super easy and understanding. He takes attendance but all of his tests are open note and there aren't many notes. It's an easy A if you have to take it.

Frazier is very nice and has an obvious love for film. He is open to student opinions. His tests are open note and very specific so take good notes. He allows 6 absences but you need to go to class because chances are you missed things that will be on the test. You watch a new movie every week so have time for that.

Frazier is obviously really passionate about film. He expresses his opinions but it always eager to hear students opinions, and he really takes you seriously. He's one of the few college professors I've had who isn't at least a little elitistcondescending. He's a nice guy and with a little work his class isn't hard.

Okay, I liked this class. But if you do not like film, DO NOT take this. It can be extremely boring. He talks for most of the class about films. Most of the required films are not horrible, so it is alright. His tests are open note, but SO specific. So take good notes. Also, he is a tough grader. Apparently, corrected papers for like 10 years.

He loves horror, which is great, but he talks too much. Class discussion is him talking for an hour fifteen. Not many assignments, and pretty easy. As long as you don't mess up grammar, assignments are an easy A. Tests are open note, but ridiculous. Tests on the most random little things he said in class. Allowed up to 6 absences.

Frazier definitely speaks in a monotone voice and the class wasn't as exciting as I had hoped. The tests are open note but he asks EXTREMELY specific questions about scenes in movies so they can be a bit ridiculous. Overall though not too hard of a class.

Very easy. Write down EVERYTHING he goes over. Write down EVERYTHING he mentions to know in the book and you are golden. ALL tests are open note. If you can't make an A in the class then you are lazy. The research paper is not hard at all and he grades easily. I didn't put my heart and soul into it and still got a 25/25. Take this class.

Yes, Mr. Frazier speaks rather monotone and the lectures can get boring, but, the class is so easy that it's worth it. Also, he is very helpful if you come to him with questions or concerns. There is one research paper and three tests that are all open note.

This is the second class I have taken with him. The class really isn't that hard. Watch the movies, write down what's on the board, and show up and you should get AT LEAST a B. There's a research paper, but if you follow the rubric exactly how it is, you're pretty much guaranteed an A. If you want to take film, this class is fine.

If you're interested in film then it's an easy class. There's a 1500 word research paper, but you have plenty of time to work on it. Frazier seems a little grumpy at first, but I really think he just wishes that more people would show a little interest.

At first I hated him but he grew on me. As long as you do the work and show a little interest then you're fine. There is a research paper that isn't that hard as long as you don't put it off till last minute. He gives it to you like a month before it's due. I can honestly say I really enjoyed this class.

Took the horror class offered by him and it was actually really interesting. you have 6 days with no penalty to miss and 3 500 ish word papers to write with 2 test. the book is mandatory to read if you dont want to look like an idiot in class. otherwise i would definitly take the class again.

PLEASE DONT TAKE FRAZIER! Someone needs to tell this man to pump the brakes. This is a 2000 level class and has more work than my Stat II, Finance, and Management classes all combine. A- in all three but I will get a D in his class. He shows no compassion for the optional research paper and will slaughter it. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!!

DONT TAKE DONT TAKE. I made this account just for this man...This class is the least useful class at ASU whether you love movies or not. Tests are RIDICULOUS with useless info! Plus you will spend 5 hours each week watching and writing about 8 movies. Dont write the research paper, he will slaughter it so it wont help your grade. WORST PROF EVER!

Comment:
Frazier has a genuine interest in film and perhaps an unhealthy fascination with Hitchcock. His tests are fairly straightforward, and his required film review essays are easy but require that you follow his guidelines EXACTLY. He's not very helpful outside of class, but you are allowed 6 absences without penalty.
