Honestly isn't the most difficult dude but clearly cares about the material he is teaching which is awesome. Doesn't force his views on you and is his lectures are pretty funny and helpful. If you miss class you may be fine as long as you do the readings but in general he makes really complicated stuff seem pretty easy

Awesome professor. He's fair at grading and if you just work hard, it's not hard to receive a good grade. He makes discussions fun and I honestly never thought I would be interested in philosophy until I went to his lectures and discussions.

Best professor I've had at BU. Great energy and passion for subject and does a great job engaging the discussions and lectures. Very clear and straightforward on assignments and the material. Best office hours I've been to. Very prompt response via e-mail. Made me actually care about the environment, which seems to be his biggest passion.

Many people believe he is a great and concise teacher. I agree that he is extremely energetic about his work and discussions. The problem with Sweeting is his ego, attitude and summary of philosophers. If you take his tests make sure you repeat his interpretation of the material. Any original ideas tend to be shot down and marked poorly.

Prof. Sweeting is the best professor I've ever had at BU; and I've had quite alot of good professors here! Sweeting always comes to class on his game, and his lectures are phenomenal. I think it really shows that he is passionate about his work, and as a student I greatly appreciate that. WHOMP there it is!
