This class is extremely boring not because of Bangura but just in general. But, mostly importantly its an easy A although many do not receive A's just because people don't listen. It's not hard at all, read the chapters write the papers how he asks and you'll be straight. I would recommend it.

This class is about indoctrination, not education. Is easy because you re-write everything and he gives you the mid-term verbatim as a review, but in my opinion not worth it. I learned nothing about Islam I didn't already know and was given a false history of everything he deemed "Western"

AVOID this guy.The prof is only viewed as easy because you will have to resubmit everything you write.You will spend more time digging through methodology and theory than actually learning something about the class.You will also be involuntarily entered into a conference and your paper will be based on standards that are unrealistic and pointless.

The class is extremely easy, if you want to learn something, do not take this class. I learned nothing about Islam, if anything this class was propaganda and the professor taught nothing about Islam. He compares Islam to tother religions to show how great it is, while putting down everything else.

Very, very, very easy class. Professor is extraordinarily unclear and he can never keep to a point. Class didn't cover what the course description, it is mostly just him rambling. One big paper and two tests. He lets you revise EVERY section of the paper and gives you the tests before hand.

He does spend some time talking abt writing papers for a writing contest, but the class doesnt revolve around it. Even if you dnt take part in the contest, you still learn another style of writing. As for Islam, I think ppl expect to learn evrything frm lectures w/out doing the reading. His lectures are interesting AND informative- take this class.

It is shocking Bangura is considered a Professor, becuase that is an insult to all academia. He does not teach what is in the curriculum, but instead teaches step-by-step how to write an essay for some contest. Since he uses the whole class for this, AU students win every year, and he gets a good name for it. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Bangura is a horrible professor. He does not teach any of the material. Class is focused on getting a paper published. You get midterm ahead of time. Lots of chances to meet with him outside of class. You can get out of taking the final if you get As on everything else (midterm and term paper). VERY easy A horrible prof. though for learning

To be successful in Dr. B's classes, just attend every class and make sure you turn in your paper assignements (NCUR or whatever) on time. Also, be sure to consult with him outside of class, so he knows you care about your grade. He's not the best orator in the world, but hes a really nice, good guy.

Dr. B. is the most amazing professor I have had during my time at American. He takes time to talk to his students and if you do what he asks of you are guaranteed success in his class and your paper will most likely get published. He really teaches you how to write a great research paper. I loved this class. Dr. B rocks

You don't learn anything in this class, but the NCUR paper is a good experience. Professor Bangura doesn't seem well-informed on his topic for class, but he is very willing to help students. Take the course to do NCUR or for an easy A, don't take it if you want an enriching learning experience.
